Had a Blast trying out this new course! 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Mar 17, 2018 Played the course:once

Pros:

- more open course and therefore different than other courses in the area
- good for beginner and experienced players
- good variety of holes that require you to be versatile with your shots
- short holes in the beginning and longer ones on the second half, allows you to warm up well
- long course in all so plenty of walking
- nice map next to fitness building with a layout of the course

Cons:

- Biggest thing is there are no tees. Hopefully they install some
- not officially open to non-ibm employees (although i have played it multiple times with no issues and even talked with a security gaurd)
- lots of goose poop
- red tees are difficult to find in the grass as they are simply submerged rocks with the top side painted red

Other Thoughts:

I'm not an IBM employee, but I live 3 miles away and have been wanting to try this course out since I saw the baskets up by the road. I went ahead and did it anyways, a security guard drove through and definitely saw us and did absolutely nothing. It was a Saturday also and there was absolutely no one else there too. I will be going back this weekend

Great, mostly open course, but with challenges 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jan 8, 2018 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

- 18 DisCatcher Pro 28 baskets
- One elevated basket
- This 18 hole course is mostly open (not in the woods) with few chances to randomly hit a tree. Still, most holes have a challenge that require a well-placed shot.
- There is a good mix of left turn and right turn shots to keep it interesting.
- There are several shots over or near water that make it challenging.
- Well-placed mandos make several holes more challenging.
- Several holes are fun ace runs.
- Most holes allow to go full strength on the drives.

Cons:

- No cement or graded tee pads yet. These are still in plan. But it currently makes for some awkward footwork and slippery tee shots.
- Signage not posted yet (I know these have been created and just need installed
- Signage still says IBM employees only, but we've had plenty of people join us

Other Thoughts:

I play this course several times a week during lunch and never get bored of it.

*Disclaimer: I'm also one of the course designers and helped to install it with other volunteers.

Great Executive Course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Dec 26, 2017 Played the course:once

Pros:

This is a well designed course that makes the most out of the space available.
There is a good mix of holes. Most holes are wide open, but there are a few narrow holes, three over or near water, some with elevation changes, and some that favor right and left handed players.
IBMers just installed brand new DISCatcher(R) Pro 28 baskets on all the holes. Before that you could only hit a pole with a PVC pipe over it.

Cons:

Being located next to a small lake, there is goose poop scattered about all the holes.
No cement tees; the tees are on the grass with red and blue markers. This really isn't an issue unless it's really wet. Update 2/11/19 - Gravel tee boxes were installed on all holes except 14; waiting on permits to install a ramp there.
Since this course is almost all open, there is little shade on those hot summer days.

Other Thoughts:

This course is not open to the public, you need to either work on the IBM campus, or find an IBMer to play with.
