1) 18 holes all baskets. Short, long, open, and tightly wooded.

2) Concrete tee pads for at least 1/2 the holes and more planning on being installed.

3) Course property has a lot of history. Many generations of family members have owned the property and there is a family cemetery at the top of the hill near the teepad for Hole #9.

4) Lots of elevation change

5) Some aceable holes and a couple par fours.

6) Course has a Signature hole: #17.Big Boomer off the hill with a GREAT view of Ironside Mt.

7) Chance to stop at the General Store after hole 7 for more beer, water, soda, snacks...and then again at the end of your round.

8) Some holes have signs with distances

9) Very Challenging, not for beginners. Water Hazard on hole 18.

11) More maintenance work is being done.

1) Although dogs are allowed, I wouldn't bring them. (maybe for the front 7, but the highway is close, hole one starts near the store parking lot, and the ground cover is a mix of grass and sharpies)

2) Quite a bit of poison oak around and even the fairways have unfriendly thorns especially the back 12 holes.

3) Some holes play realy close to Highway 299 and a bad throw could end up on the highway or hitting a car

4) Not for beginners...errors can be costly or painful off the fairways. (Blackberry bushes and poison oak)

5) Can be easy to lose a disc even on sections of the fairway.

6) Hard to follow/play the course for first timers. Good to have Nate and/or Andrew along.

7) No creek watering options, bring your own water.

8) Gross pond is the water hazard you must make it over on hole 18. Requires a pretty good throw to be "safe".

This is a very fun and challenging private course just off the 299 in the small town of Burnt Ranch. It plays with the first 7 holes on one side of Hwy 299 and the other 12 holes on the other side. Hole two plays along the old 299 which is now just a dirt road through the woods. Course is only in it's second year, but already taking good shape. Many holes need more maintenance to make them more "friendly" for errant throws, but even for "fairway" throws also. Blackberry bushes and poison oak can be a problem. The course had an excellent mix of holes that played uphill, downhill, flat, to the left, to the right and straight down the middle. Call Nate before you head out, his # is on the PDGA website. Very friendly. He and his friend Andrew will likely play with you and you'll appreciate the personal guides for the course. Great to have this course between Weaverville and Willow Creek. The area needed a longer more challenging disc golf option. I look forward to playing this course in the future...I think it will only get better and better and has the potential to be rated a 4 in a few years.
