Pros:

This is a really beautiful course set throughout J. Frank Wilson Memorial Park. In reality, this course is possibly the best kept secret in local parks and rec., since as someone who lived in the area for years, I didn't even know this course existed until just recently.

For a course whose average hole seemed to be about 230ish feet, there really were a fair amount of interesting shots. Doglegs both right and left, and significantly up and downhill keep you interested rather than feeling like you are at a pitch-and-putt.

Many of the green complexes are signifcantly sloped which adds a bit of difficulty to the putt and approach from which the course definitely benefits. Watch out for rollaways!

For a course that doesn't at first glance appear to get a ton of foot traffic, the DISCatchers were in great shape, the hole lines were cleanly cut and maintained, and navigation was a breeze with ample navigational signs. Finding the first tee is easy, look for the big sign at the first parking lot that will direct you to a course map with scorecards available. Facilities on site include covered picnic areas and restroom facilities. I also appreciated the wooden steps that were cut into a few of the steeper walks to help with footing.

Some of the throws down the hills and into the lower valleys of the course, 4 being a great example, are very picturesque.

Cons:

Not a ton of distance variety here. I really wanted to rip a driver but never got the chance.

Course terrain is very rocky which is sometimes difficult on footing, and is not easy on the discs either.

Hole 4 is dangerous. The teeing area is on the park road in the middle of a turn. That is setting up for someone to be hit by a car.

Hole 17 is a bit close to the basketball area and I have heard that has caused some interference in the past.

Teepads are a bit inconsistent. Some are well packed dirt and cinders bordered by logs and with a wooden plank in place to mark the front of the pad. Others are uneven dirt without a marker present. Hole 4 is mentioned above.

Other Thoughts:

The hole par here is often very very generous. In reality, most every hole should play as a par 3, but this is supposed to be a beginner-friendly course so take that into consideration.
