Pros:
Tee's are marked.
Small parking area for disc golf
Course makes a nice loop
Very easy to follow without a map
Cons:
Very short for a seasoned disc golfer
Rough can be thick in spots
Most fairways are not very wide, 10 to 20ft max
Other Thoughts:
I never know what to expect when hitting a State Park course. I was actually pleasantly surprised with this course.
Its a very pretty park, the course is not next to the lake, it is actually on the side of the valley. You get some scenic views of the lake and the surrounding hills.
This is a very short course, it would be great for families, EXCEPT the mowed fairways are too narrow. The rough is thick in spots with sticky plants.
The holes range from 160 to 279 with one hole just over 400ft.
Personally, I threw at least 2 shots at every basket from the tee except that 400ft hole. I was running for aces. Still finished my round in 26 min and shot a 21.
Would I play here again? Yes, I would not drive 2 1/2 hours again just to play this course. But I would love to camp here and play a round when not fishing or hiking the trails around the park.
The only reason I don't rate this course higher is because while the length is beginner/family friendly, the rough and narrow fairways on this course are not. So I rated it a 2 1/2 even though it was my favorite course to play that day. I almost played a 2nd round but wanted to make sure I got my other courses in before it got dark.
