Pros:
Great facilities on site. Playground for young ones. Camping available. Tons of space for events with grills available for cookouts. Other things like horseshoes, tetherball, and volleyball on site.
Very sensible and challenging layout with a mix of technical and wide-open holes of varying lengths. A mix of righty and lefty holes, plus holes where rollers or overhand are best to reach the green. Some pins are guarded.
Cons:
Some danger of hitting buildings (or tractors). Hole 8 crosses the volleyball court, which should be played as out-of-bounds. Tees are marked but signs are not up yet, baskets are not numbered yet.
Other Thoughts:
9-hole courses are often put into city parks with little rhyme or reason, but this one was clearly laid out with a lot of attention paid to safety, fun, variety, and creating a challenge. This is one of the best 9-hole courses in the state of North Dakota, and Medina is well worth the stop. The business district in town is also very interesting, with a bakery/butcher shop with ND favorites like kuchen, cafes, and more.
