Went back for seconds. 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Jun 29, 2017 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

Challenging corridor shots, very well maintained. New sign at first tees shows current layout. (Take a photo.) Begins and ends at the parking lot. All the tee signs are in good shape.

Cons:

Only 12 holes. The long, wide-open bomber shots you see in tournament videos are temporary additions in the other section of the park. The corridor shots are all straight - where are the doglegs to drive me crazy? Flow is a bit stilted. I walked from the 3rd basket to the next tee, but found it was #10! (4 was across the street.) From 10 to 11 was a long walk that I would never have found without my photo of the map sign, and the same is true of 11 - 12.

Other Thoughts:

Most of the holes are pretty short for pros - but I'm not, so I had a great time. My mood was also colored by the weather. We'd had multiple rain storms for the 8 days I'd been in country, but today I played in brilliant sunshine and light, cool breezes. Fairways and distinctive trees were recognizable from European Open videos, but the long bombers are a temporary expansion for those events. It's a 12 km bike ride from my temporary home in Tampere, but if schedule and weather permit, I'll do it again. I might save weight by carrying only my FD and my putter, though.

A bit of a disappointment and confusing 2+ years drive by

Pros:

Nice park, facilities, and lakes nearby. Easy to find the entrance and start area for the course. Some nice slope and driving challenges.

Cons:

Bad signage and maintenance, for instance old tee pads. Confusing paths to holes, along with tees and old map for the course. For example, baskets for holes' 1 and 12 are next to one another, and hole 8/9 basket wasn't there. I think hole 4 is wrong on the map or else the tee and basket on the other side of hole 3 is wrong. The course map on-site shows twelve holes, but never found hole 8 basket, and web map for hole 10 is hole 12 on-site. I am not sure, but I think hole 8 is hole 9 (its tee is next to the road and where the skate park's parking lot is located, and the sign read hole 8).

Other Thoughts:

The course needs some maintenance, such as arrows to next tee. Seems like some baskets have been moved around because sometimes the tees and baskets are not close to one another. For example, there is a tee behind hole 2's tee; and the sign for hole #8 is far from the actual tee. Overall, it is an okay local course, but I wouldn't play it again.
