Pros:

This is the first company course I've played I think so not sure how it compares to others but for a 9 holer it's surprisingly good. Compared to the nearby Hinson Lake, this course is predominately open and a nice change of pace.

White and Blue tees are easy to find and although natural with weeds growing out of some, they were of good size and decent to throw from. Baskets are standard Discatchers and easy to find.

Also like Hinson Lake, the elevation change is surprising. Uphill for a few holes, downhill for a couple. You could play the Whites and Blues and feel like you've played a quasi-18 hole course (some of the tees aren't much different besides length though).

Hole 9 had some sweet elevation change with the basket down in a bowl. Cool hole.
I would definitely not anticipate a crowd.

Cons:

Design-wise, the only major slight is the extreme amount of righty holes. There was maybe one hole that played left to right. If you played the Blues, you had to backtrack after a few holes b/c the holes were kind of stacked onto each other. It's really open so you don't have to worry about getting hit much though.

There's a fence in play on probably every hole. If you toss one over, I wouldn't advise climbing over the fence for it.

Finding this place is kind of tough (nowhere to park except the roadside) but on a Sunday it wasn't too bad. It's also not the prettiest course either.

Other Thoughts:

I wouldn't go out of my way to play here but I wouldn't not go either. It's definitely worth bagging. I can see people really disliking it (lefthanders, people that throw over fences, Appalachian beauty connoisseurs, etc) but I thought it was worthwhile. If you have a decent arm all the holes are reachable.

Really cool of Piedmont Natural Gas to build it.

Thank you Piedmont Natural Gas 2+ years

Pros:

Brand new DISCatchers, two tees on all holes, pretty quick play.
Good course for a town this size in a area without a course.
Holes are laid out to play away from the 10-foot high, barbed wire fence around the Piedmont Natural Gas facility. It would take a big grip lock for righties to get over that fence.
They put in a Mando on #7 to have at least one left to right hole.

Cons:

Most holes play right to left, I'm a righty but like to have a variety.
Tees are gravel, they aren't too bad, but probably will need regular maintenance. No signage, benches are trash cans. New course, so hopefully these will be added.
A large sign at the first hole would be a nice marker to look for when arriving for the first time.

Other Thoughts:

Overall, a nice 9 holer for this town. I'm thinking it was put in by Piedmont Natural Gas (note the course name) for their employees and a give back to the town. The course starts just before their fenced in property and moves clockwise around the property to finish on the far side.
Not sure how much property they have around the course, but it would be cool if they added nine more, back into the woods, then returning to finish on these holes.
The Piedmont facility looks pretty new, so they have a large, barbed wire fence around it to protect their property. Good idea, this industrial park is kind of hidden. So, most of the holes are straight, or bend right to left, away from the fence for righties. Smart.
#9 is a good finishing hole, longest hole at 417' from the blues, starts flat, with the fence on the right, then drops down to a drainage ditch then up to the basket on the other side.
The only course within 20-25 miles, not a destination course, but convenient and fun for the locals.
