Piedmont Natural Gas DGC Review 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jul 25, 2015 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

The course gives a nice scenic and quiet round of disc golf to anyone who plays. I may be the only person that plays the course and I play 2 or 3 rounds in a day, 3 or 4 times a week. It is located the Piedmont Natural gas building at an industrial park, so the only noise around would be the animals in the woods, the cars coming in and out of the complex and yourself. Each hole provides a nice open area to allow for many tee shot options off of the tees and wooded areas providing some challenge. The course provides elevation change to also help you challenge yourself to try every shot in your arsenal. There are also signs at the end of every hole pointing you towards either the blue (back) tees or the white (front) tees.

Cons:

This course is out in the middle of nowhere and there is no signage pointing you to the course. Without a GPS or a mapping app on your phone it would be very hard to find. There is also no parking available to guests so parking along the road by the first tee is needed. There is also no footage on any of the holes at the moment (I am occasionally going out there to gain the footage to the holes when I remember to do so) and no signs at the tees telling you which way the hole finishes. There is a large fence that borders the whole disc golf course and can really get into your head when taking a shot. If you throw your disc over the fence then there is a really good chance you will not be able to get it back until you contact Piedmont Natural Gas yourself.

Other Thoughts:

The course will be much better in the future as it is played more and becomes more recognized. It is a fairly new course that no one except for a couple of people around knows about. It lies on city property and will surely be upgraded and kept nicely for the public. As soon as I am able to provide footage to the city, I may be able to get signs put up along the course to help guests figure out their shots to take. White tees provide the excitement for beginners and the blue tees provide the challenge for the more experienced players. I would recommend coming out to the course to allow for more traffic on the course and to give great reason to the city to further upgrade the course to make better.
