Quinlan Park

Reviewed: Played on:Dec 2, 2023 Played the course:once

Pros:

-- Good level concrete tee pads, approximately 5x12. However, most are higher than the surrounding ground, some by as much as 6 inches, so there is a safety concern.
-- DISCatcher baskets; they've got some wear on them, but they catch fine.
-- Tee signs have all of the necessary information, plus either an inspirational quote or a piece of disc golf history.
-- Map on site.
-- Course flow is solid, especially when you understand there is no Hole 2 anymore. Mostly you follow the gravel path.
-- Practice basket in a C1-sized circle surrounded by gravel path.
-- Other amenities on site include covered pavilions, playground equipment, a basketball court, and a splash pad.

Cons:

-- Land is not great for disc golf. It's pretty flat with few trees and no water, except the water that seems to collect in fairways and stay for days after a rain.
-- The holes are fairly short with only two of the eight longer than 300. Those are 309 and 311, so big-armed players won't throw a driver. Holes are also open with very few obstacles.
-- Road construction took out hole 2 completely and the T pad for hole 3. You can tee from the concrete walking path and come close to the original design. However, moving farther up the path (away from basket 1) would bring trees into play and make a much-more interesting hole. Also, if you pushed the 9 basket back/left, some trees would come into play.
-- No water.
-- No restrooms.
-- No seating at T pads.

Other Thoughts:

-- Park borders an elementary school and an intermediate school.
-- From the parking lot, follow the path between playground equipment and the basketball court to reach the No. 1 tee. No. 9 basket will be on your right, and the practice basket will be on the left.

Kids course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Mar 10, 2017 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

It's a good course for the kids in the elementary school that is right beside it, and good for beginners. A nice practice basket placement and set up that I think the circle surrounding it is 30 feet

Cons:

All the shots are the same and it's really small. Hole 3 will puddle and get really muddy. A long shot on 9 could land in the parking lot.
