The course has now been completely redone, and remodeled for the better. The old putt course is gone and now the course has 9 legit long, and short tee pads. It also has 2 different baskets per hole a long and short, giving you multiple ways to play the course. You can play a mix, or play an 18 of long and short or however you want. I played long to long and it gives you a chance to air out the drivers, and the ob is clearly marked out well. Ob is almost on every hole. Long to long will challenge even the advanced players. Tee pads are great and baskets our like new. The layout flows fairly well and there's tee signs on every hole with only couple blind baskets. Some cool pin settings.

Most holes finish to the left heavily favoring backhand players with ob straight down the right side on almost every hole. Same type of shot feeling on a lot of the holes as every hole favors the backhand for the most part not a great mix of holes. From long to long they all kind of feel the same pump out a max backhand then putt really don't need much disc variety as most shots out same.

All in all I'm glad to see this turn into an actual course and awesome to have a dunes course. From what I hear it's possibly expanding to a full 18 down the dunes and I'll be excited to check out or help it get finished. Will be awesome addition and go coast disc golf

* you know, it's really nice for what it is which is a really short course for beginners. Holes are generally less than 100 feet long. If you need more, then it's probably not for you. There is a course nearby that looked to me to be really challenging.

Local players have apparently placed alternate tee pads on every hole to add challenge -- length or trees. There are "gold" and "white" tees. I couldn't find all of them on all holes but it was kind of a fun additional treasure hunt to look for them the first time. Playing from those tees added enough challenge to make it really enjoyable.

Short, family friendly course right near the beach. Works for some good midrange/putter practice.

Short holes, don't expect to get practice driving out here.

On most holes I saw at least 2 tee pads, and often a 3rd makeshift one in a more "challenging" spot. Be sure to check for those, or just pick a spot more challenging to throw from to make this course more interesting.

Obviously, the Oregon State Parks Department has done some improvement to this little course. As you drive up to the course there is a sign saying Disc Golf Parking.
I played on the Memorial Day weekend and there was no $5 day charge at this state park like there was at Champoeg and Willamette Mission State Parks.

The course features brand new DGA baskets. There are two tee pads for each baskets, each with a simple little tee sign that tells the hole #, par and distance. The tee pads are natural and are currently in fine shape for this little course. The Red tees are the shorter distances. They range from 54' to 90' for an average length of 72.44'. It's a perfect little putter course. The Blues are a little longer and sometimes give you a slightly different angle. They range from 72-198 for an average length of 109.33. You might need an approach disc of some kind here.
The course terrain is flat with some scattered Madrona groves and other typical coastel shrubs. Some holes are flat and open while one or two actually have an line. # 8 makes you throw an simple little annie from the Blue tee. There is actually a little elevation that hasn't been utilized. I think if this course gets enough use, expansion to a full 18 could be in the future.

All are obviously Aceable! I Aced # 4, a 54' monster and then proceeded to hit the basket on # 5 basket (72') and then chained out on # 6 (69'). I would have had to start a forum to see if anyone has ever had three consecutive ACES!

I gotta think it might be windy here quite often.
Many holes in the 50-75' range.
Lack of challenge for serious players.
I wonder that with enough play the natural tee pads in this sandy beach soil might become deeply rutted?

What a great course to bring the kids to. As I was leaving a guy drove up with two boys, probably 8-9 years old. And they were meeting a buddy who had never played before. This course is perfect for this group of aspiring disc golfers.
Yes, I know 3.0 is an inflated rating for a short beginner course like this but for the aforementioned group, this course is a 5.0. Heck, Had I been lucky enough to stick those other two ACES and had three in a row, I'd would rated the course a 5.0.

So much potential for a basic 9, solid 18, or an amazing 27. Parks department is open to expansion but needs to see use rise and hear from the community that this is wanted.

This is really small simple course for beginners and will make it great for campers who have their families with them to learn. Its great to begin without all the pressure of watching big D bombs. Wide fairways. Clear tee signage. The pole targets are nicely painted and mimic fishing bobers with numbers on them in metal also Pink flags adorn their tops adding to the State Parks fishermans draw. Pound for pound, it is cut up to enter new players into the sport and the gift of old time post play. Ahoy matties!!! Spongebob square pants.

Needs a course kiosk to match the fishing bober pole play.

Winter can expect heavy rains. Dog friendly and not part of day use fee.
