Pros:
The Green Course is right across the road from the main Parma Course at Veteran's Memorial Park. It was designed and installed as a beginner friendly alternative for Parma disc golfers, and it does meet that goal.
+ All holes are under 200' with scattered trees in play on every hole. The green space where the course plays is wedged between a walking path, apartment complex, and a ball golf course.
+ Great introduction for beginners, it's very similar to Poolside in Medina with a little more elevation and a little less distance.
+ Tees are marked with distance and hole #. There's a concrete parking lot near the first hole.
+ Minor elevation and a densely wooded area comes into play on the back part of the course.
Cons:
- Since all holes are under 200', it really isn't an enjoyable course for anyone but a pure beginner. Every hole is an ace run, and I picked one up on #5!
- Tees are natural and hard to spot. There's tape on the basket rims, but some are pointing to the wrong direction.
- There are some low hanging limbs that should be cut down.
- #1 plays a little close to the fence that separates the disc and ball golf courses.
- #9 ends on the opposite side of the parking lot and #1. Maybe there's plans to expand into that wooded area, but it's a long walk back for now.
Other Thoughts:
The Green Course is great for pure beginners besides a few minor design issues. Great place to practice your approach shots and putts, but that's about all it's good for in terms of advanced players.
