A fun little warmup, great for beginners

Reviewed: Played on:Mar 16, 2024 Played the course:once

Pros:

Easy to walk
Nice tees and baskets
Every hole has a little challenge.
Requires shots curving in both directions
Great to take beginners as they won't get worn out and it's entertaining enough that they'll want to keep going
No chance of losing a disc

Cons:

It's only 9 holes
Hole 9 ends up in the woods pretty far away from hole #1.
However, you can play the course in reverse to get back to #1 if it's not busy, that was fun.

Other Thoughts:

This is a good beginner friendly practice course. Most of the holes are park style, with a few trees to navigate so to park every basket does require a little variety of shot. Every hole is about the same length, 150 feet or so. The holes do get progressively harder, but even though #9 is a tunnel shot in the woods, it's still only 180 feet or so. It is sort of odd that the routing doesn't bring you back to near the first tee, but there really isn't any room to do that. You play along a narrow corridor near the edge of the park and your last hole is in the woods. It's not exactly miles to get back to the first tee though.

New 18 Hole Layout a Great Warmup drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Apr 8, 2023 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

Note: This review takes into account the additional 9 holes (Brown Course) that have been added to this layout.

Front 9 (Green Course):
- Great short approach and putt practice.
- Perfect introductory course for beginners.

Back 9 (Brown Course):
- Extremely technical and heavily wooded.
- Short hole distances make this great practice for shot shaping and recovery throws.
- Excellent use of a large hill incorporated into the layout. Lots of throws uphill and downhill.

Cons:

Overall:
- There are no concrete or gravel tee pads. The tee-pads can get *very* muddy.
- Both layouts (9 holes or 18 holes) do not loop back on themselves. You will need to walk the entire length of the course back to your car.

Front 9 (Green Course):
- Decent use of trees and landscape to create variety, but many of the holes feel similar.

Back 9 (Brown Course):
- Kick boards on the back 9 can get obscured by leaves.
- Without signage, the layout can be very confusing. I highly recommend using the UDisc app for navigation.
- Course is not yet 'beat in'. Be prepared to walk up and down some inclines on somewhat treacherous footing.

Other Thoughts:

I typically play this course as a warm-up before continuing to the main Parma DGC, and it is *perfect* in that regard. I would *not* consider this a 'main' course for any disc-golfing veterans. My review score takes that into account.
