Nice layout in a city park. A good variety of holes and challenges for a beginner like me. Good use of the terrain.

It plays along a footpath, so I spent a lot of time waiting for walkers and bikers to pass. Holes 2-4 skirt the main areas of the park, which are usually crowded and require careful shooting. Holes 13-17 cannot be easily played after rain because of a dry river that runs through.

For me living in Uvalde, it is awesome to finally have a place to play locally! Been driving to SA for years! Small course, but has some nice challenging holes. Love the expansion to 18 holes!

Only real con I have is having to share the area with the walking trail and having to wait for people to clear the area.

Definitely want to have some "floater" discs to play around the water, and a retrieval method for errant shots. Watch out for the ducks and turtles!

First of all, it is great to see Uvalde get a Disc Golf Course.

This course is built in a multi-use park, and plays counter-clockwise around a duck pond. The water deepens pretty quickly at the edge and is cloudy, so getting a disc more than a few feet in would make it tough to find.

There are a lot of mature trees in the park, and the rest is mowed turf. Very little brush or undergrowth to deal with.

Brand new baskets and basic tee signs with Hole Number, Par, and DIstance. No map.

Holes 1 - 4 play between the pond and the fenceline of the park, and are fairly narrow. The pond is on the left side and the ground slopes that direction, so a RHBH player will find their drives fading/rolling toward the pond. I didn't dunk any discs, but it was close a couple of times. Hole 1 requires a carry across the water, but the distance isn't bad and there is a wider line available if you want to avoid it altogether.

Holes 5 & 6 play in an open grassy area that is outside of the maintained park. These holes are wide open 400+ foot throws to the basket.

Holes 7, 8, and 9 are back in the park, but only Hole 8 brings the water into play.

With the exception of Holes 5 & 6, there are numerous trees in the fairways, and generally a couple of different available lines to the baskets. Being able to shape your drives is necessary to score well here.

My biggest con is that this course was inserted into a multi-use park that didn't have a lot of spare room. There is a paved walking path around the park that is directly in the midst of many of the holes.

Even on a Monday morning I found myself having to wait for walkers and joggers to clear the area before driving on about a third of the holes. There are also several benches and picnic tables that are within the possible landing area for drives.

Hole 4 is a particular problem as it requires a blind drive over a small rise to a hidden basket. But the walking path is running directly through the "fairway" so you could easily throw on someone walking toward you just beyond the rise. My wife was with me so I had her walk up and give me the "all clear" before I drove, otherwise I wouldn't have played the hole.

The tee pads are simply bare spots in the grass, though some have a concrete "curb" marking the front of the tee. The ground is level so that wasn't a problem, but several of the tees were muddy and slick.

Large parking lot with nearby restrooms. Plenty of benches, tables, and trash cans in the area.

I played on a quiet weekday morning and had to wait several times on other park users. I wonder if this course is safely playable on a busy weekend.

Offers various playing conditions around river bed. Hilly with lots of trees on most holes. The course map is on the #1 hole, right side of tee.

Grass tees, built around a duck pond so lots of water, quite often slippery because of irrigation. Hard to play on weekends because lots of people using park and walking paths.

Bring a Dragon, Wahoo or whatever your favorite floating disc may be.

Update: Nine more baskets have been added making it an 18 hole course. Currently using temporary tee markings until asphalt tee boxes have been installed. Moved hole #1 to the Civic Center where old #8 used to be. Pads and new signs should be ready soon! The par 4 old #4 has been split into 2 par 3's so there is no longer a blind shot over the hill.

With the addition of asphalt tee pads I believe the course merits an excellent rating.
