Good length 9 hole 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Oct 19, 2013 Played the course:once

Pros:

Good long textured concrete tee pads.
Good quality baskets.
Course length is quite long for a 9 hole course giving it more of a challenging feel.
Has the potential, especially after the trees start to grow some, to be a great 9 hole with some challenging obstacles and distances.
Gives Ammon something besides the short (but fun) McCowin Park, and those 2 microcourses.

Cons:

For now, but subject to change, not very challenging besides the distance.
Not necessarily a con, but be careful about the creek by a couple of the holes, it can and will take your discs!

Other Thoughts:

Would like to see this course in five years when the trees are growing and the course picks up a little local recognition.

Glad to have another local option 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jan 21, 2013 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

The layout of the baskets is good. The park is new and you can see how this course will develop into a good 9 hole course with a nice mix of distance and technical. Right now it is wide open with little trees. It should be a good in between course for those who don't have time for Freeman and think McCowan is too short and simple.

-Tee pads are concrete and long
-Great signs for navigating
-NO PEOPLE, seriously nobody is ever there
-Good mix of distances
-Made good use of the little elevation they have
-Layout is good if you consider future tree growth

Cons:

-Needs time to develop
-Not very technical, pretty wide open
-Pretty basic course
-Bathrooms, walking path, parking lot, are all in the city plans, but not there yet.

Other Thoughts:

This will be a good local course but not worth travelling to. Longer than McCowan, shorter than Freeman. If you are coming through the area Freeman is still the best destination course for Idaho Falls. Give this course some time and the trees will be great. The course was designed with the future plans of the park in mind. There will be walking paths, parking lot, playground, bathrooms, and possibly water. This stuff will be on the north side and won't interfere with course play.
