Hey everyone my names Mike, I just picked the game up less than a month ago and can't get enough. I live in the Downriver area of Michigan so I feel I'm fairly lucky to have access to a few courses near by .

I shot a pic of my gear to spice the thread up a little bit:

Fade lite bag in green
Innova starter set
Pro-D Buzzz
Pro-D Soft Magnet
Z Nuke SS
Z Avenger SS
z Buzzz SS

I had a Pro-D Avenger but I chucked it on a roof of a school near my local course :(.

So yeah hello everyone!

I say first thing is put that Nuke on the shelf and leave it there for a long time. Other choices look great. Magnets are some of the best putters in my opinion . Welcome to the site and welcome to disc golf.

I think you have too much overlap with your minis, one should suffice. :| :p

Welcome to the site.

Yeah I don't use the Nuke much at all, can't keep it under control very much.

Lol yeah, I ordered one of those small discatcher baskets that's why I've got four little discs.

This morning I placed an order for a large discatcher basket and a few more magnets for practice in the backyard too. I'm super pumped or that to get here.

Thanks for the welcome everyone!

Welcome mike.
Shoot me a message if you ever want to get a round in.

Thanks and I will do that. My friends just got their new discs in so we'll prolly practice locally then venture out to some new (to us) courses. We've played at Seitz middle school, Willow metro park and Lakeshore so far.

welcome to the site! what did you get in your innova starter set?

IIRC it came with a Leopord, Shark and an Aviar putter they were all 150g though so it made it difficult to throw them IMO.

Welcome. Buzzz's are good discs to start out with. Michigan has some fantastic courses. Enjoy!

Welcome to the sport and the site. Make sure as you progress that you prioritize the former over the latter. There's a wealth of information on this site, but don't let the us ruin the fun for you.

If you have Q's about the site of dg in general feel free to contact any of the mods on this forum. There are a lot of great people on here with a lot to offer. Welcome to the site!

That's what I got in my starter pack in December. I actually thought the weight was just fine for me as a new disc golfer coming from Ultimate.

I'd probably be experimenting now hyzer-flipping the leopard, if I hadn't lost it, and might still be throwing the shark if I hadn't lost that (champ roc wasn't doing it... kc pro roc's getting there...). Still using the aviar, but wondering what a 175 g would be like.

I'd recommend the 150 g box to new players, still - so I'm curious to hear you found it too light.

Anyhow, welcome!
