Is this a stolen basket?

While browsing the web for disc golf deals, I came across this ad. The language used in the ad doesn't sound like it was written by someone familiar with the sport. Anyone around Ann Arbor know of a course with a missing basket?

looks like it was stolen, but I don't recall seeing any discatchers on Ann Arbor area courses... all DGA or Chainstar. The only discatchers I know of are at Bay Court... I haven't heard of any missing from there.

I'm not familiar with the course, but they are listed as Chainstars, not Discatchers. Maybe they have a mixture?

EMU's about the only course in the area I haven't played. But I don't think they mixed baskets... that's usually mentioned in reviews and I don't recall seeing that in any of them.

I don't think it was stolen from any course in the area... just no Innova baskets.

Maybe this is a college student, who stole the basket while home for winter break. Then brought it to school to sell it where it wouldn't be recognized.

regardless if it was stolen from the area or not you contact the police and let them investigate it. if it's not stolen they'll figure it out, if it was they'll figure it out.

It's also a brand new basket, I dont think the guys had it for very long (no numbers and the packing plastic is still on the chain assembly) It also looks like the new discatcher that came out at the end of last year.. You might want to check new courses or ones that just got upgraded. Maybe call Innova to find out who they just shipped to?
Also it's not concrete debris it has a locking collar. Most likely, and yes I've see this happen. Someone got too excited to get the baskets and installed them without locking them down. Maybe a local college?

I was thinking something along the lines of this.. doesn't have to be from a course around Ann Harbor. Actually the guy would have to be a complete idiot to post a basket on a Craigs List around the area he stole it from.

I've interacted with the police in cases like this before.

I'm not too sure they'd spend the time to investigate it based on my hunch of stolen property. I know my home course has police reports filed from when our baskets were stolen, so when a tip comes in, they have some background information as grounds to approach the suspected thief with.

This is odd I was just looking at baskets and seen this one. Was telling a buddy about it. Its way to cheap and he has no Idea what it is. Sounds Stolen to me.

Tell the guy you want to purchase the basket, but to meet you at the local police station to pick it up. . .see what he says - Don't jump to too many conclusions, but normally disc golfers steal disc golf baskets or they are stolen and sold for scrap metal to fund meth addictions (we got ours in flagstaff back from a local scrapyard and jag was arrested soon after)
