So I tend to stick to the understable side of things with my distance drivers but I need something to fight headwinds and need some insight. To give you a starting point here's where I throw some of my main discs (averages):

168 Champ Beast: 300'-330'
175 Champion Leopard:280'-315'
171 Star Teebird: 260'-285'
180 M4: 240'-260'

I've been toying with discs like the Avenger, Surge, Surge SS, Rouge, Orc, Wraith, Orion LF but haven't found anything that I love quite yet. I'm trying to stay in the speed 9-11 range as my wimpy arm can't get anything much faster up to speed.

What's more important when fighting headwinds? Weight? Mold? Speed? Any recommendations?

when i fight a headwind i want two things - one, a more aerodynamic disc to compensate for the wind resistance (in other words a higher speed disc) so i don't have to throw harder, and two, more OS.

that's what i like to do. better safe than sorry in the wind.

as far as what disc molds . . . eh. at this point, many discs will act OS enough for you. are you going for distance in the wind? or just regular windy day duty?

I don't need crazy distance but I'd like something to complement the Beast - that disc just gets eaten alive in a headwind, even on a hyzer. If I could trust something to go straight with a little fade at the end into the wind 280-300 I'd be happy (today)

For a long time I used Avengers. They had just the right amount of speed and it always seemed they would go further for me in a headwind. So I would go with an Avenger.

Not a lot of people use one for headwinds, but I've found that My Saints work really well in a headwind. It could be how I throw it too though.

I Treat a Headwind like any other shot. I just use the right disc and speed of disc depending on the distance needed. That's thing people get confused or just intimidated?, I guess I should say about headwinds. As long as you have the correct disc and the correct speed for the shot you'll be fine.

I throw a Firebird into the wind the same way I throw a Mamba with no wind. I get the same result from both shots. That rule and those discs seem to work for me

Earlier this year I was having some success with the wraith but it started turning over and I do have a nice flat Crank that again, was doing the job for a bit but now will again, turn over into 15+ mph headwinds...

I've been using a c-pd for headwinds. Its been pretty good for me. The headwinds I play in aren't anymore than 15mph

You kind of eliminated most of the good options.

C-PD or Pro Destroyer. PD more control, Destoyer more distance.

If the beast is your mold, you can probably find a super OS beast out there.

Thank God that Innova is so inconsistent, eh?

MVP resistor. Laughs at wind but very controllable.

Faster always better over more OSthough. No putter or mid excels like a driver for OS shots in true headwinds.

I have some beautiful Beasts in the JL plastic that are nice and over stable.

However, I have a 3rd gen CE Valk that is OS and flies exactly the same with or without wind. It's like having two discs in one should the wind kick up.

I think we throw about the same distance. My Star and DX Teebirds are my goto drivers when it's fairly calm. I tried a 175g 12x Champ Teebird and was disappointed in it at first because it was too overstable for me to get any distance out of.

Until I threw it into a headwind. I can rip on it hard with wind in my face and trust it not to turn over and it has the classic straight with fade Teebird flight that my others do with light to no wind. The extra weight keeps it flying longer and I can get close to 300 feet with a headwind. My other Teebirds (150g Star, 166g Star, 167g DX) get around the same distance with light to no wind.

You have a Champ Orc in your signature. It's a speed 10, I believe. That disc should battle head/cross winds just fine. It's not just the disc, it's how you throw it. If your facing a fierce headwind, you should be able to rip that Orc (max weight preferably) on a hard hyzer line (FH or BH) and get a long straight flight out of it. If your dealing with cross winds, throw that Orc with anyhyzer or hyzer depending on which way the wind is going. You want the face (top) of the disc to get hit with the wind. If the bottom of the disc catches the wind then it will just lift up and topple over without getting a good flight.

Orc, D2, Crush,

Pulse, basically youre looking for something thats a little overstable but not super wide rim.

I like the Pulse, Orc, Crush for this slot....again, just stuff Ive thrown

S-PD or C-PD depending on your plastic preference. The Innova Starfire is a darn good windfighter as well. Discraft has the Predator which is an excellent OS mold.

I throw a 168 preflight number star firebird into headwinds. Throw it in no wind and tailwinds as well. I never thought I would need a disc such as a firebird but am so happy i bought it. Tomorrow I am picking up a 165 faf preflight banshee to see how that works for me. Keeping it light because I am gonna try getting better at thumbers this year.
