[Axiom] Axiom Envy

My mids did not come out of the bag today in 27 holes. On any hole 300 or less i was committed to using the envy today. once again it treated me very well. I didn't carry my pa4 today and missed the anny lines that disc can pull off for me.

Dear Axiom,

Please give us an under stable putter that feels like an envy but is neutral/understable.

Thanks

Ryan

Flick your Envy! I've been playing all Envy rounds lately and its killing me how easy some of these longer par 4's are in Charlotte if I just do a gentle Envy flick instead of trying to kill it with a Tesla. Actually got an eagle for my first time on a par 4 at my new home course with two Envy flicks :D

That would make a cool vid man. Two envy round, I'd love to watch that. Also inspired, gonna give that a shot this week. Been getting better at flicking the Envy by practicing in the yard. It has really helped my overall flick game.

I wish I had the time to develop a rh flick. I throw Rhbh and lhfh! Fn lame. I barely flick. If I do it's lefty getting out of trouble. Now if I could learn lhbh! Oh well

I just bought a few envies, a 175 p, 171 n, and 164 n.

Well I bought the 175 first and decided to use it as my putting putter so I bought the other 2 afterwards for practice.

I will beat the living snot out of the 164 until it is understable as an experiment just for you guys :D

See you in like 2 weeks...

2 years?
Good luck with that.

Yeah, the Anode is really more neutral than US...but the other difference is the rim underside/gripping areas. Envy's a totally different feel than the Anode/Ion core.

Something a bit more US than the Anode, Envy core.

Yeah, I tried and just can't deal with the depth of the Ion, so never even tried an Anode. Used only Wizards for putting and approaching my first couple years too and finally got tired of trying to force myself to get used to it. I'm much more consistent putting, approaching and driving with the Envy than I ever was with my Wizards (anyone need a stack of seasoned Softs? lol). I think Zone, Envy, Spike is as good as it will get for me until there is an OS and US Envy (or base line Envy to beat up, have I mentioned that?).

Also, a soft Envy would be nice...

One idea I had for a video series was teaching myself LHFH and filming the entire process, so I could show people how to build a FH from the ground up. My LHFH is still at wounded duck status. Barely :p

Mike- Do you feel like people try to throw the slower discs WAYYY too hard when flicking upshots?

I know when I finesse a FH shot its always much more successful than trying to power the heck out of it. FH flies far really easily.

That would be nice but when I Rhfh looks like I'm a 6 year old girl trying to throw. My lhbh isn't terrible but I'd never use it on the course. I'm okay with my short comings in this area I'll just wait for axiom to release what I'm seeking until the. My pa4 is back!

Definitely, and I had been among the guilty for some time.

In that Envy video I'm working on there will be a ton of 175-300' flicks with it, and the form I've been working on for that shot is a lot different than when I try a Tesla power flick.

I use a shorter reach back, focus on being smooth and fluid, and emphasize the wrist a lot more than my entire arm. I try to do a casual one or two step on the tee and just give it a firm flick of the wrist with a bit of hyzer. I get much better results this way with a putter than going for a powerful arm swing like when I go for the max D driver shots.

Yeah I got away from FH (how I learned to play disc golf really) while BH become a ever-evolving work in progress and when trying to start throwing FH shots again I really had to lay off and be "smooth"

Its crazy how BAD some shots turn out when you actually TRY to throw them hard FH vs just put it out there with a nice clean flick of the wrist. DAMN FH shots! lol..

Something to cover in the video which would be VERY nice to see is WHY you chose to throw a FH upshot vs BH anny or other approach. If you are able to demonstrate the different in how the discs finish and power it takes to get there etc.

So many times my 2nd "practice" shot with a FH ends up a better shot so I've been trying to work them in more and more lately but still "forget" I have the shot available at times.

One thought I'll throw out there is how I learned how to FH to begin with. Pick up your putter after you hole out and flick it to the next tee whenever you're playing a casual round. Keeping it casual and pressure free like that helps.

I think I might finally start carrying two of the same mold. I've got a very light N that is starting to wear and a big heavy Melon that is fresh. They are the same for sure. In a field I can park them anywhere to about 250 right next to each other. But the N will also hold an annie to the ground and the Melon will fight out. I can hyzer flip the light one and spike hyzer the heavy. I can throw the N a little nose up and it will stall and fall straight out of the sky like a lid. Now I just need to figure out how to putt with one and I'll be set.

I use the alias for Anny lines and the envy for everything else

Glass,

Let's play a flick only round, my buddy and I allow each other to dictate rounds every once in a while. I.e., putter only, two disc, flick etc.... And that round turned fh around for me. Now I use it 30% of the time and confidently! and I want to practice and get better.

I have a mean ass lefty flick so I'd have to commit to throwing like a girl and not sure if I want to embarrass myself. I don't have a ton of time to play these days! Lol

Just wrapped up filming for the video today. Wanted to get a few more rollers at Winget after filming some at Renny Gold. Actually have a pretty good amount of rollers in general going into this one. I'm pretty excited to put this together :D
