[Innova] gstar old mold Beasts

I'm also wondering if the gstar Starfire X would compete for the same spot as the OM champion Beast since the pro Starfire X was the closest thing before gstar and gstar tends to bring OS & US toward the middle.

I'll head over to my local shop later this morning and check out both.

Wow, I've got a headache...:confused::confused::confused:

Are they labeled New Beast and Old Beast? Or Beast and Beast Classic?

No, it doesn't appear that they are labeled any different. Below is a screenshot from Marshall Street's website.

Labeled the same. Heck, for all we know, it's nothing more than how a given run molded up until Innova makes an official announcement.

my question is, can a Gstar Old Mold Beast REALLY be the same as the original old mold beast?
I mean, gstar is so soft and floppy. And the old champ plastic was semi firm. Doesn't disc texture make a big difference?

In my opinion, just from owning a gstar sidewinder, I don't think any gstar disc could possibly have the same flights as regular star.

My only memory of the old mold Beast was when one day when I was out on the course with some friends, a natty dreaded hippie kid with a tye-dyed t-shirt on came crawling out of the bushes with wild eyes and he said to us, "Have you guys seen a tye-dyed Beast?"

And we were like, "ummmm..... no?!?! bwhahahaha...." :D

Seeing as how flight changes between runs of plastic, let alone types of plastic, I don't think it will be exactly the same no. IIRC, the original old mold Beast was made in the pearly champ blend, so molding it in Star or even current champion will be different than the original. They'll all likely be more similar to the old mold than the new mold was though.

I have a G*, and I like it, but would like to see other plastic options in the future--and hopefully a more informative stamp.

Had a chance to throw the gstar Starfire X in decent wind here in San Francisco's Golden Gate park yesterday and it's pretty darn close to the OM Beasts. A bit more LSS but I imagine that will get beat out of the Starfire soon enough.

Does the g* Starfire x show some high speed turn?

No, it won't flex without a major anny release and even at that, flattens out pretty quick.

Thrown flat, it does fly straight for the first 70% of its travel though.

I got 4 our of 5 birds driving with it today so it'll probably stay in the bag for a while longer.

After not throwing my OM Beast yesterday for fear of having it stolen, bit the bullet and ordered a g* OM Beast.

Will report back within the week for those so interested.

Oh, and the front stamp flight ratings 10/5/-2/2 and underside abbreviation do not differ from the new mold so the only way to tell them apart where the seller's don't already have them separated is to eyeball the rim.
