Must plays in new areas

Hey guys, I am traveling a ton for work these days and to many areas I've not disced in before. If you have played these spots can you make some recs?

Next stop is Charlotte, and I've got a game plan there, but if you have a must play that isn't Hornets Nest, Scrapyard, Renaissance Gold or Nevin I'm all ears.

After that is Ocala, FL and I know next to nothing about that area other than horses and the old people swingers in the Villages.

Then Memphis where I am thinking of bagging the course in West Memphis over the boarder to get AR on my list. But would have time for maybe one more course as well.

After that Savannah and Tallahassee are probably next and I've only played Tom Triplett in that area.

As my schedule fills out I'll keep asking for recs. Thanks for your tips!

Angry beaver at Elon park in Charlotte was my favorite course in the area. Also has a short fun ace course on site called eager beaver.

Yes, Ocala Greenway is good, plus Sawmill is also good and, IMO, a little tougher.

If you are into DG history, Northside up in Gainesville is the state's oldest (and Garrett Gurthie's home course).

I saw greenway, it definitely looked good.

I'll take a look at Nothside as well if I have time on the way down!

My suggestion for Charlotte is to make it a 2-week stay.

But perhaps more helpfully, if you haven't played Camp Canaan, it's in the Charlotte area (Rock Hill), and awesome. It has limited times available, and may require a reservation. Westminster is pretty good, and right down the road from it.

Thank you very much! It won't be 2 weeks back to back but I have done a few days in Rock Hill already and will likely be in and around somewhat often

memphis had nothing noteworthy to play imo

maybe bud hill if you like run down old private courses but still i would rather go to whatever state park is around there that has like 3 courses on site

I was in Memphis right before covid. Played the course just over into Mississippi (Southaven). Decent park 18. Nothing special. Also tried to play a course in Memphis proper, but although I could see the baskets from the street I couldn't find a way in. High fences all around and in a fairly sketchy neighborhood.

Tom Brown in Tallahassee is pretty good from what I hear. I've yet to visit the panhandle. I believe that course hosted the silver series event last year.

from being a midwest flatlander i was surprised to see it in such a traditional "park" style setting

memphis had some proper hoods

i accidently drove thru a bit of them and even tho i was able to drive away unscathed i wouldnt ever want to get a flat tire there

I've played a bit in the panhandle but more south of there. Rarely drive through Tallahassee proper. Will be interesting to see.

Tom Brown is awesome! Ocala Greenway is good but I prefer Sawmill. Northside is fun and historic but nearby Jonesville Park is better imo.

McLean is one of the hardest courses in the Florida IMO. (I have played around 150 Florida courses) It's wooded and hilly (by Florida standards). It's a brutal beat down and offers plenty of challenge for better players. Tom Brown is more accessible to more skill levels, has some of the most Florida elevation changes and is incredibly fun! Also Lake County has some of the best disc golf in Florida now including the highest rated FL course.
