Does anyone notice a difference in F2 Star plastic?

Whenever I get F2 Star plastic it always feels really stiff and tends to be more stable.

The off the shelf stuff is always a lot softer and tends to be less stable.

I'm not sure about the stability, but I've bought a ton of F2 and they've all been on the stiff side.

My HaloStar F2 Wraith was a decent bit softer than other Halo plastics I've thrown. Didn't affect it's stability much, still far more stable than my other Wraiths.

It could just be a 'me' thing. I'm used to throwing Ken Climo and Ghost Stamped Wraiths.

My F2 Wraith I just bought might be based on a different run.

F2 just means factory second- they are regular run discs deemed unfit for full price due to some small blemish or whatever- there is no "F2 plastic."

Couple of years ago when I started buying F2s they were rock hard. In the last few weeks I bought a few back-up discs in Star that were much softer. G* varies a bit, too. Innova has earned it's reputation.

Whenever I get INNOVA Star plastic it SOMETIMES feels really stiff and tends to be more stable.

FTFY Innova has a reputation for being pretty inconsistent run to run. 😛........

Get Pro or GStar if you want guaranteed soft plastic off the shelf. Star is supposed to be stiffer and more durable/long lasting. The blends change every run (Innova's runs are basically each color) so if you like a certain run just purchase a couple.

You could also request softer Star plastic from the Innova Factory Store and they might be able to find some.

The plastic has changed over the years. When you get F2's you don't know if you're getting new or old plastic or what run. The older innova plastic tends to be stiffer than the new stuff. FWIW I prefer the stiffer stuff

Could be what the plastic they called Star plastic actually is, or was. i.e. What vendor, or vendors for Star plastic or plastic varieties, and colors did they use for the raw materials for the molds they are running that year.
