Alright so i took some of the knowledge that was pasted on here from my last video and tried applying it to my throw.

Ive been focusing on my reach back and weight transfer mostly.

Just wanted to see if anyone notices a difference.

I found if i take a bigger last step its easier to get a better reach back.

Couple of those turned over on me, which is what im having the most trouble with lately. The good throws S'ed out at about 320-340'.

Heres the old video.

Thanks guys!

Weight is better than before but not quite forward. Still strong arming it, disc is out too far from the right pec, ie right pec drill. Start slow into the x step, so you can accelerate at the hit. Try facing backward and take just the plant step and sling it. Everything before that is wasted energy until you learn snap.

It looks like you're throwing the disc with your arm just before your body has had time to fully rotate into the toss. If you delayed the arm movement just a tiny bit, I think you'd get more power behind it.

Looks to me as though you're weights more centere than forward on that last step. Body is just rotating in one spot leaving your arm to do all the work. Body needs to rotate forward as well to add momentum to the shot... if that makes any sense. Looks good otherwise.

I'm typically off the end of the box after releasing a disc. I'm pretty sure my buds think it more as a dismount. HA

Thanks for the tips guys, my timing is indeed off. I guess my weight being centered is better then learning backwards like i was and not putting anything forward.

Sidewinder keeps talking about the disc not being in enough but you can clearly tell in that still photo that im tucking it in.. idk, maybe im suppose to magically let the disc pass through my body...

O ya, i tried turning my whole back away from the target, took a few steps backwards and threw. I got good distance with little effort the few times i tried this.

I'm not a pro by any means, but I've noticed that if I throw my left arm back, and get it out of the way, instead of keeping it near the disc, that I get a much better reach-back ..

Ya it almost looks like i grab the disc on the reach back, must be a habit because i dont even realize im doing it. I should tie that arm to my torso or something.

Am i suppose to be turning my hips before i start the pull?

Alright cool, Its over whelming all the different things you gotta remember in a throw.. I guess ill just keep doing what im doing and work on one thing at a time.

The still and video show the disc getting to the left pec, but from that point you are swinging/arcing the disc around. Look at the difference between your still and Dan's and how far his elbow is ahead of his shoulder with the right shoulder lower than the left where yours his opposite. Its much easier to get into that position and learning to throwing hyzer.

I am not a pro by any means either, but there was something in your timing that initially got me. After watching the video again, your practice pump seems to throw the timing of things all off.

For visual evidence compare to Robbie Bratten at the 7:00 mark they show some slow motion. Notice where he coils his upper body in his x-step you are taking your practice pump. It seems like you are trying to get your weight forward, but at the point it should start shifting forward you are still reaching back.

My suggestion would be to try your to get to your reach back earlier, so everything can explode forward together.

Hope this helps.

I would ignore reachback(and x step) until you learn snap from the hit backwards. Once you learn snap its then easier to learn reachback and x step and those will then help you throw farther instead of having all those variables affect you trying to learn snap. Everything in Jak3s throw is forced at this point where it should be more natural to get snap.

I agree with this more so then what I posted.

I see exactly what your talking about comparing these two stills.

This is probably why im turning everything over right? Keeping that shoulder down would probably prevent nose up issues too?

I see what youre talking about. That little aiming pump habit i have is offsetting things possibly. Ill try not to exaggerate it so long and get my arm back.

Pretty much. If you don't get into that position for the hit everything before it is basically wasted energy. Its also very hard to get into that position with a run up and coming in too fast. The reachback should be really loose and your shoulders turning bring the disc into that position by kinetic reaction, not by actively pulling with the arm. You don't actively pull with the arm until the disc gets into the right pec position.

Look at these guys throwing in a distance comp. They start very slow and gradually get faster and the hit is an explosion. The disc is screaming out of their hands faster than the arm is moving, as Brad Walker calls it smash factor in the snap vid. You come in with a faster arm, but the disc comes out slower.

Ya i understand the smash factory and all that from the Snap video. Took a few watches to register but i understand the physics behind it. The golf club example explained it well.

Im gonna start slowing things way down. Ive noticed this when watching these videos as well as my buddy whos pro. He looks like hes walking in slow motion on the pad. He throws 550' easy. I would ask him for help but hes not too into teaching i dont think.

Good vid too, never seen this one.

Anyone got any or know of any videos of other ppl doin the beato peck drills? I swear to the god that drill is the most uncomfortable and awkward thing ive ever done, my elbow literally feels like its gonna hyper extend.
