From benlh15's review of Salmon Falls in NH.
"The entrance to the course takes you about a mile down a dirt road that starts to feel like the beginning of a horror movie, but don't worry, that's the right way!"
I've been there and the old cemetery after the last turn adds to that feeling.

Now This Is More Like It!
3 tees per hole (white tees on the way for 2013) / rubber on gold - gravel elsewhere
- better use of available elevation
- uses more terrain off the XC ski trails
- benches at most tees
- easy navigation, good "intuitive flow" to most next tees, signs where necessary...

"Beach"in' course, man
- 3 tees per hole.
- Good variety of shots called upon.
- Room, and plans to expand to 18 next year (2010). (#'s10, 11, and 12 cleared, #18 almost done; 12 still needs tees marked)
- Very clear fairways thru the woods, yet still has trees in play.
- Picnic area and beach...
Run by the Hartland Recreation Department. A low key event for recreational players and families. 10: AM-ish start. Prizes for 1st & 2nd in each division.
Or New England. The Pinnacle in New Hampshire; not only are you in the woods for at least part of all 18 fairways, but you have the added challenge (and fun)of some extreme elevation change.
Pinnacle would be ideal for me. Only 1/2 an hour away :D, and it is a great course! Cranberry would be more realistic (more central considering population & geography) and I've played there. Tyler, I might be able to do, and its a course I'm looking forward to playing.
I made some minis for x-mas presents last year, but I didn't have access to a lathe.
I build furniture for a living, and used the routers at work. I DO NOT recommend that way. A lathe works much better.
