I wouldn't spend too long with only putters and mids. They're great at showing some form flaws but most will fly pretty well when thrown nose up. You'll want to work with some slower drivers as well to help force you to keep the nose down.
The Valkyrie is also somewhat nose angle sensitive, especially for a beginner, so it's probably not a good disc to use as a way to figure out what's good and bad with your throw. What you're seeing could be caused by one (or more) of many different things. Putters, mids and speed 5-7 drivers...
To someone 20' away, yes. To someone 300' away, no.
Because the technique and hand speed required to throw 20' is way different than what's required to throw 300'. There are a lot of things that are easy to do slowly but impossible to do very fast.
I also don't believe that anyone has the ability to measure the RPM's on a disc they just threw that's flying away from them at 40MPH and spinning at 30 revolutions per second. You may assume that's what's happening, but no one has been able to show it.
Neither did Shaq when he declared the...
My guess is that you can only really control it on shorter approach shots. Think about how you would control spin, you'd change your release point to add rotational speed rather than linear speed. You try to whip one edge of the disc around rather than forward (or vice versa). Doing that on a...
But the the technique to throw 5' with a ton of spin is way different than a drive. I'd like to see a video of someone using a driving technique to throw 5'.
It's clearly not impossible if you look at all throws, and everyone who says spin isn't being controlled has excluded those short shots...
How do you know you're actually varying you spin that much and getting the results you expect? Sure you can get different flights, but you haven't isolated spin on those throws so the flight paths could be different for any number of other reasons. It probably doesn't matter why they fly...
Keep in mind that was written nearly 6 years ago and most of the discs you mentioned hadn't been released yet. ;)
I tried to be as generic as I could with my mold recommendations both to help future-proof the information and say that the specific mold isn't the most important part. As long...
My recollection is that while S Blazes do season well, they aren't particularly long. It's kind of like the Sabre where they'll need more height to go as far as something like a Gazelle. Cycling Blazes isn't a bad idea at all, but unless you're a higher power player you'll probably need to...
They don't sell them on the website, but I've seen New Glarus stamped Buzzzes at the brewery. You could try contacting them to see if they'll sell them or find a member who is willing to be a middle man.

Several years ago there was a case of a local teacher who committed suicide at Grandview Park (it has a disc golf course) here that also involved the person being set on fire. I don't remember much of the details, but Grandview isn't exactly out in the woods and it's a pretty jarring thing to...
