Lost Disc at Ewing Park, DSM
Lost a brand new tie-dye champ Boss. At Ewing Park in DSM, threw from the original tee pad for hole 17 (not the new one). It hyzer'ed more than I'd like, but did make it past the first big batch of trees to the right. It landed somewhere in the open but I was...
One note is that your practice strokes are all wrong. You don't move your shoulders an inch. It's very difficult to take a practice stroke like that, then make a good actual throw. I suggest making sure during practice strokes that you get your hips and shoulders turned just like you would...
Two main things: Hips and release point.
Your hips are not 'closing' during the runup. Your shoulders turn because your reach back goes so far (which is not a bad thing), but your hips just face 90 degrees off target the whole time. Ideally, you want them to face 180 degrees and the back of...
The first throw was better, but both of these look like strong arms as opposed to whips. Very common problem for those that haven't been playing for awhile (or those that haven't focused on their form.)
Strong arming means you are not letting the rest of your body do the work. All the effort...
The vid looks like a strong arm to me. It's very common for folks strong arming to top out in the 300' range, give or take.
I found during my learning process that walking up more parallel to the target, as opposed to having your back turned the whole time (like you do in the vid) helps this...
If you all saw the short tee, you'd probably laugh. This course rules, but a lot of the short tees are incredibly short, this being one of them. Throwing anything other than a putter is overkill. It just needs to hold a little hyzer line for about 175-200'
I'm going to be in Orlando for work end of Nov/beginning of Dec and again in Jan/Feb. Any recommendations for courses in the area? I checked the directory and there don't seem to be tons. Are any of them very good, or are there others that are a bit of a drive that would be worth visiting?
Or...
Lost my 175g 06 Augusta wraith at Ewing park in Des moines. My hyper shot flipped flat and ended up in the woods on 13. Sad day. Those are my fav drivers and I only have one left!
Star Augusta Wraith? Ho does that thing fly compared to the champs? Pretty comparable? Now I REALLY want one of those!
BTW - thanks for all the replys and I may get in touch with you lion, I did find a local source who has several, so I'm going to see what he has before I decide if I need more.
X-out's always worry me (perhaps irrationally.) Sounds like you have picked some up though Spring. Got any pics? Sounds like that may be a good source, though I did find a local source as well. Never hurts to stock up on them while they are available!
Not really sure if it was in player packs or not (I'm not a big tournament player and wasn't playing in 06 anyway lol). These are just my favorite wraith's i've ever thrown. Its a very subtle different between one of these and modern champ wraiths. To me they seem less domey and a little slicker...
Looking for an 06 Augusta Wraith. Weight/color doesn't really matter, but i'd prefer lower weights if I have a choice. Also would like it to be 7/10 or better, but don't care about ink. Would like to pay $20-25 shipped, but if 'like new', i'd be willing to go as high as $30.
A good starting point would be to watch nose angles. If you're throwing nose up, your going to see some grouping of your discs, regardless of what you are throwing (mids will go as far as drivers.)
Also do your best to eliminate strong-arming. There have been tons of posts that address this...
