A lot of odd hole designs that don't corelate to an actual disc golf shot. often if you hit your initial line (if there is one to hit), its just luck to see if you get through a wall of trees. Quite a few tee pad placements didn't make much sense
I was disappointed to see yet another...
From what I understand, the park has approved 18 new holes.
There is a great bit of land southeast of the sledding hill, but it likely only has room for about 6 holes. I believe that area is being prioritized and a good amount of work has already been done.
The other area being considered...
Second for Rolling Hills, I'll add on Independence Lake because its a great course and it uses the same parking pass as Rolling Hills. Both courses are fun from the long and short tees; a lot of deuces to get from shorts and good challenge from longs.
Addison Oaks and Stony Creek is another...
I'm 90% sure I know the answer to this but I just wanted someone else to clear it up for me so I can speak with confidence.
Which run of the Des Reading Firebirds came first? "Fire! Chicken!" or "Fire! Bird!"? (Referring to the bottom stamp on the disc)
(I'm aware there is another thread about...
cash, merch, 50/50 cash, locally donated giftcards, beers, and reg fees (as in you get the $10 reg fee covered for that round or for next week's round) are some of the ctp's we've done locally
For learning I would say a Buzzz and/or Leopard. Thrown flat and with some decent snap, they should both have relatively straight flights. Maybe some turn to fade depending on speed, but both discs will do a good job of showing any flaws in form.
As for forgiving, I like champ xcals and firebirds.
I have some Ti that are my beefy buzzz's and in a quest to find back ups for those beefy Ti's I have also found flippy ones. I think the key (just my thoughts/opinion) is looking for a flat buzzz if you are looking for the most HSS. That being said, my most HSS buzzz is a flat, Ti Buzzz
I prefer concrete or turf. Either way, the most important things are that they are flat, even, and level/flush with the ground.
Concrete is great for easier snow removal this time of year. I can't imagine shoveling and salting a turf teepad working too well (as far as snow/ice removal and the...
^This for sure^ you can only stay dry for so long in conditions like that. Adding wind to the equation only makes it worse.
Last winter I played a glow round in sub zero temps with wind chill at -20 to -30. That was brutal but you can dress for that. Rain and wind at 30 degrees is the most...
Rolling Hills County Park from the long tees on hole 7 is a pretty tough teeshot. (image attached) The narrow fairway + thick rough on both sides of the fairway + a tree in the middle of the fairway 50 feet off the pad + a low ceiling = pretty tight shot. The fairway opens up a little bit ~250...
The Ponds at Lakeshore is the closest for me. But, I've considered Rolling Hills my home course since I started playing.
I also try to make it out to Independence Lake, Hudson Mills, Willow, and Cass Benton regularly.
