Hope you are enjoying your time here! Honestly anything up near you is most likely going to be covered in snow...Things down here are just now starting to be playable. If you can find the Foothills Flyers page on facebook they would be the ones to ask about the mountain courses!
Welcome! I dont post much myself but there is tons of great info here!
I am over in Lakewood, and more than happy to help out with form flaws and disc selection! Let me know how I can help!
I think most people are speaking to the way classic plastic "looks" as it beats in. Very early you will start to see scrapes, dents and other signs of wear. But it takes quite a bit longer for the stability of the discs to be affected by wear.
I think the Stilleto should be called the Claymore. That seems to fit the disc better, being a big meathook type driver.
Save the name stilleto for an overstable mid or putter, and use some short sword name for the Claymore.
Even as a more experienced player I love reading your posts and articles! Keep them coming and good luck in your quest to become a more complete disc golfer!
For me, the GL stands up and has a slight turn before a hard fade. The Optos never really stand up to flat, but hold straight for quite a while, and then a hard fade with a more pronounced skip at the end.
The glide on these for me is a lot more than I would expect for such and over stable...
first thoughts
Just want to chime in on my first thoughts after throwing this disc.
I have a 173 white. I threw it next to a star Valk and an Icon Patriot for comparison.
It was more flippy than the valk for sure, and noticeably faster than the patriot.
The first few throws (RHBH) flipped...
The Villain has been my main driver for a while and just picked up a 175 Fuzion trespass.
Still throw the Villain for most shots as I have not had much work with the trespass yet. I could see it taking over for my GL villains, but I will still use Opto Villains for a lot of shots.
I throw the classics off the tee and for approaches and I love them! a few more roll-aways may be more frequent than the softs, but the number of great shots more than makes up for it! The stiffs release much cleaner for me.
30 bucks down the drain it looks like...have not heard from him since he confirmed a payment via paypal. it has been a week and a half now.
This was my first time to buy something on the MP and this is frustrating, does this kind of scam happen often here? I felt a little more safe doing this...
