Does anyone put their name and number on anything else they own? All I can think of is those 70's and 80's sitcoms where parents would write their kids names on the underwear that they bought for them haha.
Also, we don't only have to use sand. We could use a half moon of hedgerow or shrubbery instead. A good example of the idea of a green that we probably all know is the bamboo hole at the USDGC. That hole creates a situation where throwing a specific shot and landing inside a well defined zone...
Haha, fun feedback everyone.
To Sidewinder22, good point. I think the idea of a chip shot is actually what I'm getting at with greens. Your comment about sand traps messing with the contact of club to ball is exactly right. I think sand traps would have the same effect here though. Traps...
Greens.
Disc golf and ball golf are very similar in almost every respect except - the vast majority of DG courses don't have greens. We have fairways with a basket at the end. We don't have a putting surface. I realize that the actual surface is much less important in our game than ball golf...

St. Cloud State in MN is definitely worth checking out as well. The city itself has around 65k people with the student body comprising about 16k. The college offers the second most areas of study (majors) in the state, behind the U of M in the Twin Cities, and there is a ton of disc golf...
I've got and SOLF (hyzer flipper) and QOLF (overstable) in my bag. They're used when I need more than an eagle/teebird but less than a destroyer. Very dependable fade with both discs. I find the SOLF to be longer due to its comparative understability.
