Raku is certainly an art form. This particular application or style does nothing for me. To me it looks like the horse hair was applied without any real rhyme or reason. It's just a random mess.
That was my thought exactly when I saw it.
I wouldn't say this would be the coolest disc golf...
I can agree with this. However, I think I can provide a better example for the desert course. The rating for this course is actually closer to that of the course in Monroe but is significantly different in terrain and obstacles (or lack there of). I haven't played either one of these courses but...
I couldn't agree with this more.
I've played on tee boxes that consisted of paver stones/bricks and I really liked them. I don't know how much work is entailed for the install of those though.
Stealth chains
Here's what I came up with that's extremely quiet and very effective at catching anything you throw at it. Start at post #24 to get detailed instructions on making the "chain." Instead building a whole basket you could just find a cheap portable (Marketplace, Craigslist or eBay)...
I second this. In my experience, the ink will come off much easier if you attack it soon after the basket has been tagged. It's the ink that has been on for months or years that is extremely challenging to remove.
NIMBY opposition
Based on the comments posted after that write up, it sounds like this property has some NIMBY's near by. It will be interesting to see how this unfolds.
The furthest I've hit mine is from about 260'. It soaked up the impact just fine. I've hit it multiple times from about 120' when practicing approach shots and it works wonderfully.
For best results, I recommend that you use cotton rope or some other rope that has some significant weight to it...
So, am I the only one who had to read this multiple times to understand what was going on? One minute there's a couple in the throws of passion and the next minute I'm trying to figure what the OP is doing to some woman's husband.
As for the couple, it's the new mile high club. ;)
That's awesome! I'll be looking forward to seeing your creation. Definitely post pictures.
So the black plastic circle is actually from a spool/reel that held some kind of rubber gasket. You nailed it! At a site that I used to work at, they would throw away these spools once they used up the...
Thank you for the compliment and I'm sorry for the extremely late response. I must have missed this post. It's a good question as I'm sure the same thing has crossed other peoples minds as well.
I've never had a problem with the basket tipping over. I've hit it from about 260 feet during field...
Hello Bachan. That sounds like a fun project. It's a lot work but fun nonetheless. As far as expertise in course design, the two people that I know of personally here in NC and would highly recommend are on this site. Stan McDaniel is an accomplished course designer. His experience and know how...
Top notch
Looking at your final product, I would never have known this was your first time to weld. Very nice attention to detail. The top of your entrapment is very impressive.
So with all of that chain, does it really only 35-40 pounds?
Well done!
I really like what you have done with this cart. I bought a used jogging stroller similar in design to yours about six months ago and I was thinking of doing something with the seat just like you've done. I'm planning on using a different type of seat but the concept you've employed...
If he's looking for something that will closely mimic metal chain, it needs to have some significant weight. I'm afraid plastic chain is way too light and will allow the blow thru of good puts.
Also, while the plastic chain may not be as loud as its metal counterpart, the rope/garden hose chain...
