I also use backpacks for this all my life. What could be more convenient than backpacks? In fact, the raincoat has helped me out more than once. It occupies a very small volume. The volume is so small that it can fit in the pocket of your pants. In my backpack, it is located in a small pocket under the bottom of the backpack. The raincoat completely covers me and the backpack from the rain and does not let the heat through. This is a great option during the rain. Look for something on backpacks.global as there is a fairly wide selection of backpacks. I always take few things with me, so my volume is about 15 liters. I don't like larger models. They are too massive.
