PDGA NT: Santa Cruz Masters Cup Presented by Innova May 28-30

With all the cliffs and rough and difficult lies on that course, I would imagine delays are unavoidable, regardless of the sequence of holes. Seems like I saw more prone position putts and scrambles than I have seen in quite some time. The tougher the last hole is, the longer the wait to play it, which does present its own brand of suspense of dealing with nerves, for sure. Perhaps, with relatively fewer players like this event had, the answer would have been more staggered starting times.

Probably doesn't help that they send out the Age protected side if the event out first. Though most of those who played seem like good players according to the ratings, if you get one particularly slow group in the morning, it can/will cause backups for hours to come on some holes.

I think this is one of the main reasons they started a ratings floor for the DGPT events, as well as sending the FPO out after the MPO.

The course is more interesting to watch than many mostly for the fluke factor. The list of reasons it is not a suitable tour venue is a mile long though. (poor signal, it being a poster child for erosion, having multiple holes next to public byways, having crossing fairways, being unacceptably dangerous, etc)

Spot on. Parking too is a problem, very limited especially when you need space for all the media/sponsor trucks, trailers, RVs, people pulling 5th wheels too, vendors, and fans/galleries parking as well.

I heard her say in an interview that due to COVID related issues she can't compete in freestyle competitions as much right now so she switched back over to disc golf. I bet she is pretty good in freestyle..

Best in the world out of those who compete.
Yup.

I can see that, but the variety of shots that pros throw off the tee is what I was talking about.

Makes sense, thanks.

Also the variety of putts they are left with. Not scrambling, but putts from a knee, through a branch, etc.

Dela is awesome IMO. Hopefully if they move permanently to the golf course (or some other nearby venue) they will still have the previous champions skins match still at Dela and/or the GK skins match at Dela. That would be cool.
