Pictures of your vintage discs

OK, before my wife discovered ebay this would have been really impressive. As it is, this is my gutted Ontario Roc stash.

Endicott is misspelled on that last disc. I never noticed that before.

Anyway, five years ago I had twice that many Ontario's.

Stiff, if your wife wants to unload any more of your old dx Rocs, let me know.

I see who wears the pants in that house :).

Stiff, what year is that last roc from? It's pretty amazing that the club disc from 2 years ago had basically the same design, but there were about 3 times more courses. It really shows the amount of growth that disc golf has had in STL.

Now, if they could just get a 36 or 54 hole monster installed in Forest Park, maybe we could garner enough attention for A-tier tournaments.

I'll stop the thread drift...

I traded two Ontario's this Summer and had instant sellers remorse.

Besides, all of these were on ebay at some point...you had your chance!

That Roc has to be from '96. I think that Washington course was only in the ground for one year. What I found amazing wasn't that they stamp was repeated or that there were so many more courses. What amazed me was that Endicott was still misspelled!

Besides, we already have an A-tier.

When you want to get rid of some old Ranchos, I better be first on that list. I just lost my max weight "Stable Midrange Driver" Roc that's been in my bag for 2 years :(. Of course, I have a stack of Rocs, and replaced it with a nice beat up Big Bird Rancho, so it's all good in the hood :).

Hmmm...mental note to self, keep Furthur away from my Rocs... :p

My wife did a fabulous job of getting rid of all of my Premium plastic. There are just a handful left, and none of them are really worth much.

OK, so maybe she missed one...8X Roc. :D

This I'm not sure what exactly it is. It's a Cheetah.
005-1.jpg

Why it does not have the usual KC stamp, I could not tell you. The guy who sold it to me fed me a line about how it was from a super-rare test run of SE Cheetahs that were never released to the public, but he didn't have a very good explanation of how HE ended up with a disc that was not released to the public. It's probably just a KC Cheetah that got mis-stamped.

Then don't post disc porn like this:

You don't even THROW rocs anyways :).

I have Comets .

That cheetah is an SE Cheetah, or a Cheetah 2 as I've heard it referred to. It was slightly tweeked mold to have a flat top. I had a couple I got from Ebay. They were supposed to be more stable, but they were still pretty flippy.

Those Ontarios that have "throw in the Dark" printed on them are sweet. That plastic has a feel to it like nothing else. I have a few of those left but my stack is dwindling.

That would kinda match the story I was given. He said they were not released because they were too flippy. So except for the whole "not released to the public" BS, the rest of his story might have been true.

You learn something new every day.

When did the Banshees with the star stamp come out? I had one in my bag for a while until I got an ace with it last month.

The Banshee came out with that stamp in 1998. It was the first non-animal name Innova had introduced in a while, and I guess the art department had an aneurysm developing the stamp because it had the star stamp for years before the current stamp appeared. So those star stamps are pretty common as they were in production for at least three years, maybe more.
