If this is the only criteria you're looking for, you can probably pull all three Smuggler's Notch courses. They are all on the resort grounds, but none play down the mountain. Brewster Ridge and Fox Run are on XC/Snowshoe trails. The Village 9 is on the ski hill, but it's a pitch and putt at the very bottom of the hill.

That said, I think they certainly belong on any list of ski resort courses. They are on the resort property and are maintained by the resort.

You are the one in charge of a list of dg courses at ski resorts. Now, I'm no expert, but I do know a little bit about the geography of my state. I'm pretty sure there is no ski resort in Grand Prairie, TX. With Guadalupe Peak being the highest point in this state, it's a pretty good chance there are no ski resorts in Texas. Alpine, Tx may be the closest you can get to that criteria, but I don't think it's really an alpine environment (in the most common thought of sense).

It's a 9-hole park course with natural tees on the shore of a lake and has elevation from 466 feet up to 505 feet.

Isn't that about as close as TX is going to get to having a course on a ski hill?

I don't know about that. I've ridden my snowboard at the course here in Amarillo a few times. We've got a couple of hills that make for a decent short run, and if you're resourceful enough, a jump can be made for a little extra excitement. It's not resort quality, but hey, sometimes you just got to scratch that itch. Of course (coarse) it all depends on getting a snow storm without much wind.

I haven't made it up to China Peak yet, but Brian Head is pretty gnarly, as is Squaw Valley.

This may be a dumb thing to say, but I've never heard the term "ski hill" before. I'm assuming you all are using this in the same context as a "sledding hill"?

for me, a ski hill is a place to ski that has very little elevation compared to real ski resorts in the west and new England, just like most everything in PA. so, bigger than a sledding hill for sure, but almost not worth your time as far as a skiing destination.

You left out Bogus Basin in ID. And if Texas has a "ski resort" course, then you're leaving off about 700-800 other courses. For instance, I know of 3 courses in Spokane that would easily qualify.

That's a hike for sure, one of the three ski mountains I've climbed to play disc golf since my wife and I usually have the dog along. Brian Head and Squaw Valley are two really major walks to even get to the course if you don't take the lift.

I've played both, as well as solitude. All are really tough alpine courses. But so far, China Peak is the most difficult for me. Maybe next summer Mash?

Nemacolin Woodlands in Farmington, pa has a 9 hole course on a ski hill, though it isn't very intense.

They had to cancel the tournament last year due to lack of interest. IMO, it should be a one day event. It is that long of a round (6 hours for me) that it was utterly exhausting and I couldn't imagine playing twice in a weekend...

BTW I've also played smugs (awesome fun technical), and the mighty gaw (grueling but for all the wrong reasons...up and down a ski hill like 3 times).
