Pros:

There's a really nice park with disc golf baskets in it.
There's a couple putt and approach holes that warm you up.
The shape on 3 is a really fun line to try and find.
Hole 6 is a pretty decent par 4.
If I lived close I would frequent this park. There's lots of room to practice there.

Cons:

The tee pads are barely adequate. They're very small and have gravel/dirt in them. I was a little hesitant to throw full on them.
They stuck all the holes in the middle of the open part of the park.
There appears to be a ton of room around this park and they used none of it.
There's a walking path that literally runs right down the middle of hole 6. Terrible placement.

Other Thoughts:

Massive opportunity here. Someone needs to get a hold of the park director ASAP and redesign this into a proper course.
Olson park seems really nice. It was quiet and had lots of nice views. There's a nice little stream that runs down the middle of it and lots of woods and hills that are just screaming for some discs to fly through them. This would be a really cool spot for a good disc golf course with it being so close to the airport.
I'll cross my fingers and hope for some justice in the near future. In the meantime I wouldn't plan on going out of my way to play there again

Pros:

Amrock is the definition of a beginner-oriented course with only six holes, minimal obstacles, simple lines, and little threat of losing a disc. And yet there's some pushing against the conventions of this form: holes 3 & 5 are over 350' and hole 6 is a legitimate par 4 at 580'; a few holes have basic but nonetheless real decisions to make that will be shaped by one's skill set; there's the opportunity to reach into your literal and technical bag to shape different lines and approaches. It makes for a casual round for sure and is a great place to bring a child or true beginner, but there are still pleasant opportunities for more seasoned players to wing a few shots and watch their discs fly.

We used Amrock as a chance to warm up before heading to Two Mile, and it served that purpose well.

Grooming was excellent, navigation was a breeze. The park seems small but is picturesque, with a playground for kids and opportunities to stroll.

Cons:

Ultimately, this is a course geared towards beginners with only the most casual appeal. Holes are simple and straightforward with minimal to zero obstacles: the two par 2s are legitimately so.

Despite the course's simplicity, there are some longer holes here, and the raised gravel tees offer inadequate space to drive on. We threw adjacent to them basically throughout.

The basket is not visible from the tee on a few holes, and in these instances even simple graphics on the tee signs would be helpful to orient. As-is, we had to scout a bit which felt silly on such a simple course.

The walking path does come in conflict with the course at a few points.

The course's six holes play progressively further into the park, meaning you have to retrace your steps after finishing your round. It's very much not a long walk and nothing to mind, but in-and-out purists may be miffed.

There's little shade, so you'll feel the sun when it's out.

Other Thoughts:

Shoutout to the elderly man tossing a disc back and forth while smoking a cigar on hole 1. He looked to be in his 80s. My hero.

Pros:

The Amrock DGC is located in a pretty little park. It's a 6 hole course that is pretty good for beginners, at least the first 4 holes. The last 2 are a little bit long and challenging for beginners. But it's a pretty solid design regardless.

The Baskets are shiny new Mach V's that are all mounted nice and level and catch great. One basket and pin position per hole.

The tee pads are crushed gravel inside a wood frame. Level and pretty solid actually. About your average length and width, maybe 4'x8'. One tee per hole.

The course hole lengths vary from hole 1 at 155' being the shortest. Hole 6 is a whopping 580', by far the longest. A solid mix of different distances for a six hole course actually. Holes 1 and 2 are par 2's and hole 6 is a par 4. The other's are par 3's.

The tee signs are pretty simple but look very nice. They have the hole #, par and distances listed on them. Nothing amazing but really it's all you need on a course like this. There is also a beautiful course map with all your pars and distances located next to hole 1.

Course is free, probably never busy, at least disc golf wise, and is in a pretty little park. Great design for the little bit of space they had to work with.

Cons:

Hole 6 doesn't end anywhere near the parking lot. You have to walk the trail all the way back after finishing. It's not that long of a walk, but is a little annoying. It's understandable though, with the space alloted.

A few holes play over the walking trails. A little sketchy on hole 6, since the majority of the fairway and part of the walking path are blind from the tee. Hole 5 also plays over the path but it's visable from the tee. Just be cognizant of where you are throwing.

Other Thoughts:

This course was nothing special, but it is a fun little 6 hole. Obviously nothing to go out of your way for, but it's not the worst course I've played. Pretty good place for beginners. They did what they could with the available land. Course baggers dream but that's all if you don't live nearby.
