Pros:
Atlasta Park DGC is an extremely beginner friendly course that's set up in a little park with minimal other activities that'll interfere with your round. The course starts and ends right by the the wrap around parking lot.
The design here is done very well for the limited amount of space available. The holes range in length from 150' to 250' according to the tee signs. All par 3's and really fun for tossing some putters and mids and ace running for more advanced players. Great course for younger and newer players to learn the game and not get frustrated in the process.
The tee signs are pretty basic but have all the necessary info on them. Hole #, par and distance. Every basket is visible from the tee so this is all you really need here. More than you even need actually.
The baskets are beautiful new Dynamic Discs Veteran's. These are all in great shape and catch nicely. The coolest part is that it's an even mix of three different colored types. Red, white and blue. Pretty cool idea that I'm surprised you don't see more often to be honest. One basket and pin position per hole. Very nice.
The course does a good job incorporating a few trees in places. Nothing remotely wooded but at least it's not just baskets in a wide open field. There's some very slight undulation in elevation too.
Natural tees but all were in great shape. You're not going to need a huge run up if you even need one at all.
Nice large course map at the start of the course. A little overkill for a course like this. It can be helpful for travelling players who don't use Udisc though. Snap a quick pic and you're all set.
Very clean and well maintained park that's probably never busy. Permanent and free to play.
Cons:
A couple holes play pretty close to the road and right next to a neighboring property. Holes 1 and 9 are pretty close to the road. Hole 2 plays alongside the property line. Probably not too big of deal usually but worth noting.
Potential to lose a disc in the fenced in retention pond on hole 8. It would take a terrible drive or gale force winds to find it but it's possible I suppose.
You could also land a disc on top of the roof of the building by hole 9 with an errant toss. Highly unlikely but possible.
A few of the distances seemed a bit off. Again, you can see every basket from the tee, so not a huge deal but a little misleading it seemed.
Other Thoughts:
Nothing overly exciting about this place but it's still a pretty fun one. Worth a stop if you ever find yourself nearby. Won't take more than 20 minutes for most to play.
