Cut Down By A Third

Reviewed: Played on:Oct 27, 2023 Played the course:once

Pros:

+ Installed with a standard DiscGolfSolution package (similar to DiscGolfPark) with excellent signage and yellow Latitude Pro baskets. The signage includes very detailed illustrations and shows lengths in both meters and feet

+ Three teeing positions for every hole (Blue / White / Red) to accommodate varied skill levels (the Reds are very short, and take out the few doglegs)

+ The six wooded fairways are well-defined, but narrow. Mostly straight with the baskets tucked to the side, you need to throw very precise lines if you're going to score

Cons:

- The biggest problem is the temporary construction fencing which cuts off playability after hole #6. And that's too bad, because 7 - 9 are park-like holes with open lines and elevation changes unlike the first six. The nine as designed provided a pretty good balance and variety

- Although the signage indicates three tee positions, there are no tees. Everything plays from the fairway/walking trail. You can assume that the Blue (long) plays from the teesign. A few of the Red positions are marked with painted logos on trees, but I never found any signs of the White tees.

- The wooded holes use community hiking/running/biking trails as fairways. Not great on busy days. If that isn't enough of a problem, you have to backtrack along 5 to get to 6 - so you might face incoming fire from players behind you

Other Thoughts:

~ 1.5 if you play it as a six holer, taking away points for the lack of tees, and recognizing that you're playing up and down wooded community trails. If you could play the nine as designed, you don't mind natural tees, and you play when there's little traffic, this would be a pretty good community course for newbies and families
