Where's the WOW 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Mar 23, 2013 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

This is a decent 9 hole course that is on lake property. The ground was litter free upon my visit. Good view of the lake and the grass in the fairways was cut short upon my visit. Baskets were in great shape and all the tee signs were in place.
This course offers a couple of downhill shots, mainly #3 and to a lesser extent #7 and also offers a slightly up hill shot in #9.
There was taller grass outside of the mowed fairways to add more challenge and the course itself is away from the other lake activities so you shouldn't be hindered during your round.

Cons:

Distances were not posted on the tee signs. There is no map either online or posted anywhere at the course itself. As a first time player at this course there could be confusion as to where the next hole is at. I found this to be true especially after holing out on #3. Hint follow the mowed path from #3's basket and head NW and you will see #4's tee box. The reason this was confusing was because it appears that the mowers had turned the tee markers somehow on a hole or two. After I figured this out and found #4's tee and basket it made sense, so be advised.
Wind most likely will be a factor here. This course is very open and depending on which way you are throwing it could help or hurt your scores. There were no benches, not that you would need them, but it would be nice to have that option. No trashcans either but as I listed above this course was spotless. Lets just hope it stays that way.
I could see the ground becoming spongy around #3 and #8's baskets. Also as stated by the previous reviewer there wasn't much in the way of variance on several of the holes. Most of the holes were pretty much open(see the pictures)however with foliage this might change your shot preference.

Other Thoughts:

Here are my hole by hole observations as per my visit:
1-Mostly open with cedar trees upon approach. There was some trimming being done to the cedars on the left side of the hole.
2-A few trees to contend with off the box.
3-A downhill hole, the longest one on the course, with taller grass on both sides of the fairway for added challenge. Shoots West to East.
4-Slighly uphill shot that shoots South to North.
5-Shoots West to East with taller grass on the right side of the fairway.
6-Shoot low to avoid the trees.
7-Slightly downhill and shoots towards the hedge trees.
8-A nice tunnel shot, that isn't very narrow, with the basket out in the open.
9-Shoots North to South with the basket sitting up by the cedar trees.

This is a nice little course that would keep your arm in shape if you were on a camping trip or you wanted to show someone new or with little disc golf experience a decently challenging round. Pro players would probably be bored here. There just isn't enough diversity in the holes here. As previously stated the course is very open and there wasn't any dogleg left or right holes, they are all just straight ahead shots.
This isn't a course I would go out of my way to play but it serves its purpose in offering you another option if you are in the area.
Had there been more variety in the shots here and the distances been posted I would have an easier time giving this course a 2.5 rating. There just isn't a signature hole or any WOW factor here. Its a functional course.

Decent 9 holes 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Aug 20, 2011 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

Nice park. Fairways were mowed nice. Restrooms, picnic shelters. Hole description (all are straight shots):
1 - Open fairway with somewhat protected pin.
2 - Moderate tunnel with ceiling, open pin.
3 - Gentle down hill with pin in a circle of evergreens.
4 - Slight up hill, with only obstruction to the left.
5 - Open fairway with a few trees towards the end.
6 - Open fairway with protected pin. Hyzer shot is obstructed.
7 - Slight downhill with significant tall grass to right. Protected pin including low ceiling.
8 - Open fairway, with trees on both left and right. Open pin, most would consider it a 'fast' green.
9 - Slight valley but pin is basically same level as tee. Open fairway, protected pin.

Cons:

Grass tees, sign posts - but no maps on signs, or hole length. Every hole is a straight shot. Not one turn left or right.

Other Thoughts:

I wasn't expecting much, but was moderately surprised with this course in small town Kansas. Great beginner course, I would play again.
