Bard's Tale

Reviewed: Played on:Oct 27, 2023 Played the course:once

Pros:

Bard has a nice mix of short, moderate, and longer holes.
The park is well kept with nice green grass and there are other amenities(restroom, basketball court, pavilions, etc.)close by.
Disc loss should be very low here, unless you were to go into the creek, even then I think you would be able to retrieve your disc fairly easily.
The course flows well, and navigation shouldn't be an issue.
No tee pads, but there are stone tee markers in the ground with basic information on them to assist you.
This is a nice entry level course and a good place to take beginners. There are just even lines that it keeps you on your toes but it won't frustrate beginners.

Cons:

This course is a bit crammed on space. Some of the holes are close together, but not super bad. Hole 1 if you go long you could be in the pavilion.
The transition from Hole 4's basket to 5's fairway will slow your round down a bit, but is necessary to get to the other side of the creek.
There is not a lot of variety in the shots here, its a mostly open course with a few trees here and there. The middle holes would be vulnerable to the wind.

Other Thoughts:

Overall this is what you'd expect in a small town course. A nice park with a few trees and 9 holes. Nothing fancy but its a nice option for the area.
More advanced players could play mid and putter only rounds here to hone in on those skills and beginners should find that this course suits their needs well.
This was my first time playing on El Guapo baskets. They caught just as well as any other basket.
If you are with your family and are wanting a place to play a round together then this course should hit the spot.
