Pros:
I want to preface this review by saying that my rating is partially based on the potential that this course has. At the time of this review, Berlin Lake Dam DGC is not close to a finished product. However, this course will be expanded to 18 holes this fall (layout available on UDisc).
Once this layout is complete and all of the amenities are added, you'd likely be looking at one of the best courses in the area (and maybe even the state).
This review will be updated when the full 18 hole course is ready for play.
--------------
Berlin Lake Dam is currently a difficult 9-hole track that plays through the open fields near Berlin Lake.
With five holes coming in at over 500 feet (including an epic 937 foot par 5), there are plenty of opportunities to unleash long drives through this beautiful property.
The kiosk area already has permanent restrooms and a practice basket, overlooking the impressive dam.
The 9-hole layout will provide a challenge, even for advanced players. The shorter white tees will allow less advanced players to have a good time. Please note that even though there's only nine holes, this is NOT a beginner friendly course.

Cons
I'm going to split this section into two categories; Cons that will be resolved when the course is completely finished, and cons that are pretty much set in stone.
"Temporary Cons"
There is no signage or permanent tees. Tees are currently marked by small pink and orange flags in the ground.
The grass was very long when I played. I'm sure once the course becomes more established, upkeep will improve.
There are no wooded holes right now. The 18-hole layout looks like it'll be a pretty even split between wooded holes and more open holes.
"Permanent Cons"
The course is in the middle of nowhere. I personally like this secluded feeling, but some may complain that there are no gas stations or restaurants nearby.
I expected to put more in this section, but truthfully, I can't come up with anything.
Other Thoughts:
While the course is still in progress, there's no doubt in my mind that it will transform into a community staple sooner rather than later.
If you want to play a polished course at Berlin Lake, wait until the full layout is finished this fall. But by all means, if you are in the area, come check out this new project in Northeast Ohio!
