course update 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Aug 27, 2021 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

course is not for pros, for sure. Was designed for PE class and novice players. Hole 3 has 2 poles to throw around. Holes 6 and 7 has trees to throw between.

Cons:

tall brush along side holes 3 and 4.

Other Thoughts:

2 holes in woods were removed after heavy rains made it a swamp. 3 holes were removed due to the new school addition. The course was officially closed due to construction, but for some reason, was never allowed to be posted as such on this website. All holes are now reinstalled ,as pictures show , on Aug 20, 2021.

Biggest obstacle is the wind 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Mar 20, 2019 Played the course:once

Pros:

The Buckeye Central School District owns a whopping 117.2 acres of pretty much flat, wide open property. They decided to fill some of that open space with disc golf!

+ Nice permanent tee signs and DISCatchers on every hole.

+ #3 and #4 are decent enough, with #4 being the longest hole on the course.

+ Easy to follow for a first timer, and it makes a loop back to the parking lot.

Cons:

- Most of the course is wide open and flat. The only hazard is a disgusting drainage basin that comes into play on #2 and #8.

- There are two wooded holes and they are the two worst holes on the course. Both are under 200', with a very narrow fairway to the basket. No lines to hit, just a bulldozered path.

- There's a couple of gravel tee pads but most are natural.

- Since the property is literally wide open in the middle of farmer's fields, the wind is going to be crazy. This becomes problematic when the tees are about 20 feet from the previous basket, with a few overlapping fairways.

Other Thoughts:

Even for school kids this course is a pretty boring place to throw. The wind makes it interesting at times, but throwing straight and long time after time gets old, quick. If you happen to be in New Washington or Celeryville (for whatever reason) and want to throw, go right ahead. Otherwise, I'd stay away.

Side Note: Buckeye Central's football team has lost their last 22 games, posting back to back winless seasons. Rooting for the Bucks in 2019 to break the streak!
