Played this course so much I created an alternate layout 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jan 4, 2020 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

Despite being a very short course it makes use of all of the possible features you can within the space available. Baskets are all in good condition as of Jan 2020. Great warm-up round for some of the more difficult courses in the area.

Cons:

Tee markers were re-done recently with painted wooden signs. This should be a pro, but some have fallen out of the metal posts that were the original signs so many of the holes have no sign or simply a metal post in the ground. This doesn't pose a problem if you consult the map provided in the files tab but certainly could use some new tee markers. Tee pads are all natural as well. Number 10 tee pad seems to have disappeared, just tee off from next to the water fountain by the tennis courts.

Other Thoughts:

I grew up in Carmel Valley so this course has a special place in my heart. I've played it close to 50 times so I know it's ins and outs. At first it was a great way to get into the game work on my throws. Now it's great short-game practice. In fact I had a create an alternate layout to spice things up a bit and work on my longer throws. (Alternate course map & hole guide available in files tab now). Overall, worth it if you're in the area, especially as Ryan Ranch is closed for the time being.

Fun Little Pitch and Putt 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Sep 22, 2014 Played the course:once

Pros:

This course is very short, but still can give a good challenge to a relative beginner without beating them up. I routinely bring out my buddies who are just starting out, as I can work my short game, while they don't feel like they are getting beat up by the course. This place is a virtual ace race with 15 super aceable holes and 3 more holes that are only a little tougher to get a hole-in-one on.

Cons:

The course sometimes isn't accessible. Many people use the track or surrounding fields, which can influence what type of shot you throw off the tee. Hole 18 currently has a lot of weeds and tall plants surrounding it, making it tough to find your disc if you land short of the hole.

Other Thoughts:

Overall, great course in the area. If you are interested in going super low or tuning up your short game, you'll love it here. However, if you are looking for a challenge, either of the CSUMB courses or Ryan Ranch will suit you better.
