Pros:
Centennial Park is a large city park that is scattered with mature trees, pavilions, ball courts, and other amenities. The course can be considered a classic park style that does end up being pretty enjoyable.
+ The design incorporates the mature trees and scattered elevation changes very well.
+ Each hole has brand new colored tee signs and easy-to-see Mach 5 baskets.
+ Holes 2 and 4 are my favorites on the course. #2 is downhill through a few scattered trees before opening up at the basket. The pin is perched on a hill above the drainage ditch. #4 is the shortest hole on the course, but the pin is protected by a group of pine trees.
Cons:
- At the time of this review, there are no designated tees. Just areas of dead grass next to each sign.
- Some of the tees are way too close to the previous basket, which could make it a little hazardous for multiple groups to play at the same time.
- Holes #2, #3, and #4 play near or over drainage ditches. There's warning signs that say not to enter these areas after excessive rainfall.
- Due to large limbs blocking a possible route of the tee, the only clear fairway on #5 is to throw over the sidewalk/road.
Other Thoughts:
The ground play here is INSANE! The grass was non existent is some spots. Most of the grass that did exist was very short. This allows for plenty of skip shots on just about every hole.
Overall, Centennial Park is a welcomed course in an area with very few places to toss the disc. Hopefully permanent tees are coming in the near future!
