Nice drive by

Other Thoughts:

Only 9 holes but mostly plays very well. Just enough trees and challenge to make it fun, considering it is in an otherwise open park. Easy to follow except #5- go up the hill a bit to the right past a bench

9 Semi-Challenging Holes in a Wooded Mature Park 2+ years

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Sep 25, 2016 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

- Very well maintained, mature park setting.

- Good signage at tee pads with accurate distances.

- Good mix of tunnel shots through the woods as well as a couple of more open holes.

- A more challenging course for novice players, intermediate/advanced will shoot around par, but not way under as a person would at Mundy Park. Not as difficult or varied as the Langley course, about the same difficulty as Burnaby.

- Course really utilizes the space of the park well and offers a couple of interesting holes.

Cons:

- Tee pads are natural, but really not bad for natural pads and are not worn down much. I prefer these pads to really short concrete pads personally, but most would list these as a con.

- Very active park, especially with dog walkers.

Other Thoughts:

Overall a fun course to stop in and play. Wouldn't recommend this as a destination course in the area if you're not from the Vancouver area (Raptor's Knoll is the must-play in the area, and Langley Passive Park offers more challenge for advanced players), but worth checking out if you've got the time and live in the area.

- 2021 Update: Although it's a relatively straightforward park, it's one of those courses we just really like and want to play whenever we're in the area. A great course for a relaxed, casual round.

My New Favorite Canadian Course! 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Sep 30, 2014 Played the course:once

Pros:

Centennial Park in Mission, BC is a fairly large multi-purpose park containing a hockey rink, tennis courts, a children's playground and a dog park. The park's terrain is excellent for disc golf with lots of mature trees and rolling hills all throughout the course. The park's grass is green and well maintained.
There is ample parking near the first hole (by the hockey rink). The tee signs are nice metal ones with a map and showing the next tee. The baskets are Mach II models. The tee pads are natural with a yellow concrete parking barrier sunk as the front marker. These natural pads will get muddy with use and winter rains.
The prevailing theme on this course seems to be tunnel shots as most every hole requires the player to keep your tee off low, below the tree branches. Only # 9 allows a open throw to the basket where you can actually attain a little height to your tee off.
There's not many places to get into trouble here except on the left of # 1 is an especially deep nasty gorge.
Nice variety of hole distances (ranges from 200' to 402') and challenges.
My favorite hole: # 2. It's a 253' downhill, fairly tight shot to an open basket which sits just across a small ditch/creek. As with almost all of the holes here, you must keep your tee off low to avoid the branches.
With all these low tunnel shots and my weak arm, I found myself using my roller on a number of holes. # 4 and 7 are both long enough, and are set on sloping hillsides which are perfect for laying your roller where you want it to go. Unfortunately, the roller never worked for me on # 7. That hole flat out kicked my tail!

Cons:

The natural pads will get muddy and slippery and soon become an eyesore. I'd love to see patio blocks installed here like they have in Cornwall Park just south of the border in Bellingham, Washington.
Only 9 holes.
Lots of tunnel shots off the tee.

Other Thoughts:

This is a very enjoyable, competitive course. It's too bad there wasn't room for 18 but the designers did a masterful job of sticking to 9 interesting, challenging holes rather than trying to cram more into this space. It's a great park for disc golf with the trees and elevation changes. This is the 11th course I've played in Canada and this is my favorite!

Beautiful 9 hole course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Sep 8, 2014 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

Excellent design, with multiple challenging holes. The park is just perfect for disc golf, with huge variation in terrain and vegetation.

The park is very well manicured by the city.

Cons:

Only 9 holes. What a course this could be if the park was bigger. The space was used very well, but it would be nice to see some alternate hole locations to spice things up.

Hopefully some better tee pads will come in eventually.

Other Thoughts:

This course should not be missed.
