Pros:
+new Prodigy baskets
+concrete pads but only 10 feet long
+two pin placements on some holes
+enough shade to stay cool in between shots
+lefty-friendly
+didn't encounter any bugs
Cons:
-repetitive, if you don't like throwing full speed off every tee then you probably won't like this course
-tee pads only 10 feet long, with raised dirt/mud or puddles behind them, makes for abbreviated run ups
-frustrating course if you can't throw 340 consistently
-flat
Other Thoughts:
Chennault Blue is a decent enough course but just not very exciting. When reviewing a course, rarely do I say "the designer should have done it this way or that way," but this course really misses in a lot of ways. Not very creative at all, the course design feels very rushed. Just about every hole is in between 300 and 350 foot range, and there's not many bends in these repetitively straight, low-ceiling at some point in the fairway, holes. I've never seen a course with so many players saying how much they were frustrated by a course after playing it. Hopefully this course will evolve into a better course, much the same way the adjacent Chennault Green course did. Chennault Green started out very similar to the Blue course, but gradually over time holes were shortened or lengthened or just generally improved. Let's hope they do the same with Chennault Blue.
