Pros:
The Clear Lake High School Course is actually at the elementary school and next to the girls softball field. It's clearly aimed at the elementary school children. There are eight randomly placed baskets about 30 to 40 feet apart.
Now, I am always one of the first people to complain when someone designs and builds a course on school property that is far beyond the student's playing ability. I think usually, the P.E. Teacher sells the administration on the idea of a disc golf course on campus and then designs one taylor made for he and his buddies. This is one of the first school courses that I have seen where it's too simple and easy, even for elementary children.
Someone might have a course planned complete with map and all but for the rest of us, this is just a practice area. There are no signs, no tee areas and no way of knowing where to start, play and finish.
Cons:
No signs.
No tee pads.
Not really a course.
Only suitable for a safari layout or putting practice.
Not playable when students are present.
Baskets are set too close to each other, even for elementary players.
Other Thoughts:
The information sheet does a really poor job of explaining exactly where this course is located. It's not behind the high school at all. It sits between elementary school and the girl's softball field. Someone needs to update it and verify that the baskets have been moved from up behind the high school to this grassy area.
