Didn't meet Bill or Hillary

Reviewed: Played on:Jun 8, 2023 Played the course:once

Pros:

Clinton City is a typical short 9 hole course designed for families and newbies. A few holes have interesting shots even for how short they are. Hole 1 being on top of a burm with a few little guardian trees and the risk of rolling down after a missed putt. Hole 2 plays back the same fairway pretty much. Hole 3 is a little RHBH hyzer around the branches. Another hole plays around a large tree and the basketball court. From here it's pretty much wide open.

Cons:

It's a short course and it's a mostly open course. Many of the holes play the same fairway or cross other fairways. Many of the holes play down walking paths or through other areas of the park being used for other activities. I played here at about 11am on a Thursday morning and the amount of people and their dogs and/or kids made getting a round in safely very slow going. Should never try to cram a disc golf course into a park that's too small to handle it.

Other Thoughts:

It's not the most egregiously dangerous course I've ever played but the popularity of this place makes it a hard sell for me to recommend. There are worse courses in the area but also far better ones. Ill go with the classic only locals and course baggers for this one.

Great Little Course! 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jun 24, 2021 Played the course:once

Pros:

This course has the initial feel of a beginner course, but it sneakily has a few really fun, technical shots which everyone can enjoy.
- A round can be played quick on this course
- Great use of the small elevation provided and use of the trees in the park
- Baskets are good
- Nice flow between holes and easy to navigate to each basket
- The use of trees is great in my opinion and the layout was really well thought out for most of the holes.
- Hole 1 is great, it's not long, but placed perfectly on a ridge and although it's not too hard to be set up for birdie or par, you can easily get a bogey if it clanks or misses the basket and rolls all the way down.
- Hole 3 is super short, but it's a really fun blind shot over a mound with trees lining the ridge that you go through.
- Hole 4 has two trees that you can play as a double mando which really makes it interesting. You can launch a good hyzer shot on the right of the trees as well to get to the basket.

Cons:

- Tee signs have the wrong distance on a few.
- The painted Tee pads can be slippery
- 3 of the holes are a bit treacherous if the park is busy
- Hole 5 has a basketball court and tennis court that covers the entire right side of the hole.
- Hole 6 is a straight shot that parallels a busy road..very easy to drift one into the street.
- Hole 8 goes right between a volleyball court and a children's playground and is unplayable on busy days
- Holes 1 and 2 share a fairway, so be careful
- Only 9 Tee pads

Other Thoughts:

I hope in the future, they add mando signs to the two trees on hole 4 and to the big tree on hole 9.
- This course would be more fun as well if they made alternate tee pads so you can play a full 18 and I think there is definitely room to place those. On UDisc it shows 18, but those alternate spots weren't marked physically.
- I also agree, if you play this course with all the sidewalks as OB and certain sides of the sidewalks as OB along with marking certain trees as mandos, then this course can be alot of fun and a bit harder on shot placement.
- This course is close to my house, so I get to play it more than others with my limited time, and I enjoy it every time.
- Better players can really score great here, so they might not enjoy it as much, but for a small course hidden away in Clinton, it's really a fun time to just work on your disc golf game and keep getting better!

OK beginner track located in a busy park 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Apr 12, 2020 Played the course:once

Pros:

-Very good infrastructure: baskets and tee signs are in fantastic shape, and all tee pads are concrete (painted onto walking/bike paths throughout park).
-Excellent beginner course. Easy layout and not super busy among serious disc golfers, so it is a great place to take a newbie.
-Logical flow and decent use of the land available. It appears to have been designed by someone that actually plays, which is more than I can say for some other neighborhood park courses that I've seen.

Cons:

-Bland layout. Mostly open/short holes, which isn't a great combo for an entertaining round. Only 9 holes.
-Danger of hitting other people. This is a very busy park with a playground, tennis courts, bike paths, and volleyball courts, all of which can come into play with an errant throw. There are also a couple holes near a busy street, plus a shared fairway for holes 1 & 2. Add it all up and this course is nearly unplayable on a nice weekend day.

Other Thoughts:

The painted tee pads are pretty slick. I slipped and torqued my back a bit on one of them. Recommend teeing off behind the painted tee pads, rather than directly on them.

2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Aug 3, 2019 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

Great use of available space. It flows well from tee to pin from start to finish. Not particularly long and can be played solo in as little as 20 minutes. Using the sidewalks as O.B. and minding the mandatory trees adds to the difficulty. Good for the ego as birdies are easily attainable. Several ace runs add to the fun of the course.

Cons:

A couple of holes are relatively close to a road.

Other Thoughts:

Additional pin placements would add to the course!
