Pros:

Wow. What a Non Typical Arizona Desert course. Very varied terrain in 18 holes. Some are desert holes, some holes are on landscaped, manicured grass, some are semi wooded holes. One hole is even basically a boulder field (Hole 4)! I cannot think of another Valley of the Sun course (Within an Hour of Phoenix, AZ) that has so many varied types of terrain. Very cool in that aspect. Every fence, culvert, trail, etc, is used to its potential, without making it feel like you are fighting man made OB for an entire round. I Love that. Not much for elevation, but what is there is used Very well. Really well thought out holes/layouts, IMO, using available land in a Multi Use Park, while keeping you Mostly away from the bulk of other park users. Multiple layouts (Blue and White Tees, with White Tees available on Some Holes) make the course fun and engaging for about any skill level. Holes range from being shortest at 239ft out to 712ft at the Longest. Two back to back par 4's, from the Blue Tee layout, and most holes average around/over 350ft. Some distance at this course makes you feel like you can air things out a bit. There are some very open holes, but also some tight, technical holes, too. Also, Brand New Dynamic Discs Veteran Baskets!!! I had no idea how good these baskets really are, until I played this course! Such an Awesome catching basket. Many more Pros than Cons to this course, in my opinion.

Cons:

Number One, do not come to this course, for the first time, without a Course Map! It is pretty well not navigable without a map. Many of the tee pads are from the Sidewalks (which still does give you plenty of room for a run up), BUT, they are marked by Paint on the sidewalk. Very hard to find, unless you know exactly where to look. Secondly, not saying it is a Con, per se, but some of the holes are quite a ways apart. From hole 4's basket to hole 5's Blue Tee is well over a Quarter mile. You will walk ALOT at this course. If that doesn't bother you, this is not so much a Con, just a heads up. Lastly, holes 10,11, and 12 ARE based around Baseball/Soccer/Football fields that get used on weekends by other park goers. I could not play those 3 holes, this last Sunday, because of a flag football tournament and spectators. You kinda have to expect this in a multi use park, but it will bother some people.

Other Thoughts:

Honestly, I was going to rate this course a 3, but the course is a 3.5, in my mind, EVEN with it's drawbacks. I have yet to play a course in Arizona with the varied landscape, hole lengths, and layout, all in one course. I don't imagine many folks being disappointed in this course, regardless of skill level. It is a Gem of a course and I can't wait to throw it again. P.S. PRINT and TAKE a course map with you!!! P.P.S. ~ This course is marked Not Cart Friendly. I took my Zuca AT and had ZERO Problems. Was glad I had it, to be honest. No problems with a cart on this course, in my opinion!
