My friends farm course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jan 17, 2019 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

Private course on a farm of a good friend of mine so I will try to be totally honest. Matt is a great guy and player and guide for his course. Great variety of holes requiring a wide array of shots. A couple of what I call gimmick holes where you shoot thru a barn window. I like gimmick holes and raised baskets, which there are a few. Nice variety of uphill, downhill, flat, trees, buildings, roads, etc. 22 holes offer many different distances, 4 par 4's. I did get an eagle 2 on one shooting thru the barn window and then throwing in throwing over the out of bounds hog lot. Many fair out of bounds on the course, fences mainly, chance of losing a disc on this course is non factor in my opinion. I enjoy playing this course, hoping to play many more times and wonder what the curious farmer will do for improvements. Fun course to play doubles on.

Cons:

Private course can only play by setting up with Matt and usually not available on Saturday. Tee pads are natural or rubber, but it is a farm course. Quite a few cow pies to avoid but I grew up on a dairy farm.

Other Thoughts:

Give Matt a call, he'll be happy to play a round with you.

My Private Farm Course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Nov 12, 2018 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

On my farm and I designed so take my bias into account, but I used the natural features of my farm and took a very creative approach and ended up with a very fun, yet challenging course. I'm an intermediate masters player who throws 300 ft. Almost every hole is either a challenge to 2 or a challenge to 3. You'll have ace opportunities, and you will most likely take a 5 or more with all the Mando and out of bounds. Under par is a good score for most of us. Some elevated baskets. Basically, if you can control your discs, you will score well. If you can't, your big arm will only get you in trouble.

Cons:

Natural tees can be slippery. Baskets are mix and match and none as good as what we are used to. But they catch. Bring a towel, as you may end up throwing your disc in the shit, literally!

Other Thoughts:

If you are a big throwing purist who likes to play disc golf on a ball golf course, or if you're not the patient, self-forgiving sort, then drive the other way, because there are a lot of bogey traps on this course.
But if you are a fun-loving, adventurous type, get a hold of me and give Curiousfarmer DGC a try!
