Pros:
Nice and easy-to-find "course intro" area, with course map, message board, practice basket, and paving stones marking various distances from the basket for practice or putting games.
Blue Prodigy baskets, set at the right height, numbered, and easy to spot.
Level, grippy, and very large tee pads that would be the envy of many championship courses. These pads are great!
Informative tee signs that feature the hole number, distance, and a photo of the hole taken from the pad, with red lines superimposed on the photo to show possible lines to throw to the pin. I haven't seen tee signs done this way before, but it works!
Many amenities around the green areas, including newly-planted trees, plants, and aesthetically-pleasing rock work on some holes that influences how those holes are played. A lot of work has clearly gone into this course.
Other amenities in the park, including pavilions, restrooms, and a splash pad near the tee of hole 15. (On a 95-degree afternoon, I definitely gave some thought to heading over there!)
Most holes are short and have a few trees or other obstacles to avoid.
Cons:
The course is almost completely flat.
Much of the course plays right next to park roads or even over them. Definitely watch for cars before throwing on many of the holes.
Several holes play very close to one another. The best tee shot for hole 14 throws directly though the putting circle for basket 11. Several tee pads are close to other baskets (not crazy close, but definitely in the possible danger zone).
There are some long walks between holes, especially 9 to 10, 14 to 15, and 17 to 18. Hole 18 actually plays directly away from the practice basket and hole 1, so if you have parked near hole 1's tee, the last thing you do is walk all of hole 18 again in reverse after playing it.
Other Thoughts:
This is a fun, short, well-equipped course and is worth a stop if you are driving through the area. Only 3 holes are longer than 300 feet (two of them are over 400), but I think it fits the needs of a small community and would be a good place to learn and practice the sport.
