Course opened in 2021 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:May 31, 2021 Played the course:once

Pros:

The course opened for play during 2021. The course is located on the Door Creek Church property. The church keeps the property mowed. There is a practice basket located on the northeast side of the parking lot. There are no signs or tee pads as of 5-31-2021, so the location of the practice basket can be used as the starting point of the course. Each basket has a number. Basket #1 is located in the northeast corner of the property and is visible from the practice basket. There are no hills on this course to block the view of the next basket from the previous basket. The course has a good flow that follows the perimeter of the property and makes it easy for the player to figure out what basket to throw to next. This is a great course for beginners because there are no water hazards, no trees to block shots, and no areas where a disc will become lost.

Cons:

As of 5-31-2021, there are no tee pads and there are no signs. Without the tee pad and sign, the player will need to stand near the previous basket and throw towards the next basket, with the exception of basket #5, which is not visible from basket #4. For basket #5, the player will need to walk from basket #4 , past the church building, and to the large church sign near the entrance of the parking lot. The player can then throw from next to the sign to avoid hitting the sign or the building. Experienced players may not like the course because of the lack of trees, hills, or water hazards.

Other Thoughts:

The church building appears to be newly built within the last couple of years. There are no mature trees on this property. The entire course is wide open. The property appears to be at a higher elevation than the surrounding neighborhood. With southern Wisconsin known for a robust mosquito population during the summer months, the mosquitos may not be as much of a problem or a problem at all at this course because of the lack of trees and higher elevation of the property.
